MARQUEZ BROTHERS SHARE GLORY ON HOME SOIL AS DUCATI SEALS OFF THE PODIUM
The Marquez brothers have proved victorious once again as they secured a 1-2 finish on their home soil at the MotorLand Aragon.
Marc Marquez led the race from start to finish to claim an emphatic seventh win at the track, further extending his lead at the top of the Riders' Standings.
His younger brother Alex settled for a second-place finish in the race after holding off Francesco Bagnaia despite his quicker pace.
The two-time world champion came home in third place, securing an all-Ducati podium for the team ahead of their home race in Mugello.
Marc leads Alex by 32 points in the standings, while Bagnaia sits 93 points behind the two brothers, but Ducati are over 150 points clear of Honda in the Constructors' Standings.

MARC MARQUEZ: "CELEBRATION WITH MY BROTHER WAS AMAZING"
Six-time world champion Marc Marquez extended his dominance with another victory at the Grand Prix Aragon, securing a seventh win at the venue. Marquez led the race from start to finish and pleased home fans with a brotherly dance outside of his very own grandstand.
Marquez: "Of course, it was an amazing weekend.
"All the practice sessions, leading full focus, just full concentration, as I expected the others to get closer, closer and closer every session.
"In the race, the pace of Alex and Pecco was super fast.
"But yeah, it was consistent, just controlling the race distance.
"And yeah, the celebration together with my brother was amazing.
"The best way to come back with a full Ducati at the top."

ALEX MARQUEZ: I EXPECTED MARC TO WIN
Gresini rider Alex Marquez stood on the second step of the podium for the fifth time this season after a brilliant race saw him hold off a speedy Francesco Bagnaia to share the podium with his brother at their home race. Alex sits just 32 points away from his brother Marc in the Riders' Standings, with only one full-sweep weekend needed to reclaim the top spot.
Marquez said: "I was expecting him [Marc] to already be there.
"I mean, on the warmer tyre, he was already quite fast.
"And, you know, I say today, will drive for sure, you know, when you have a bad sprint race, you have that inside feeling, you know, 'he's a world champion with the lead.
"So for sure, he tried, and he played his best. I was there trying to manage the situation a little bit.
"I was not feeling 100% with this medium rear tyre.
"So if say, Okay, I need to keep the pace. I need to not make mistakes, to know they don't overtake me when they're really close, they will not be able to do it.
"So was like this. So really happy for for that.
"And yeah, we managed to start with the maximum in this weekend. That was p2 in the sprint, and p2 today.
"So, yeah, really happy for that great ride."

BAGNAIA: "A SMALL STEP BROUGHT ME MORE CONFIDENCE"
Francesco Bagnaia has claimed another podium in his 2025 campaign, inching closer to the Marquez brothers in the Riders' Standings. His third-place finish sealed an all-Ducati podium at the MotorLand Aragon.
Bagnaia said: "In this way, that race for us today, it's not just third place, but it's recovering a lot of confidence.
"And it was something that I was needing this morning.
"We had something that we were not thinking about it, and it was a small change that gave me a bit more of confidence.
"A small step of confidence gave to me a bit a more speed.
"So happy about it. I tried everything to catch back Alex, but we were increasing pace lap by lap, and I just did the best lap in the second last to go.
"Very happy. I want to say thanks to my team for we were struggling together, and today we are on the podium.
"So happy and thanks to everybody."

MARQUEZ BROTHERS CLOSE TO ANOTHER 1-2 FINISH
The podium looks set as Marc Marquez has not wobbled a single time, sitting comfortably in the lead of the race. Alex Marquez managed to hold on to second place despite Francesco Bagnaia looking a lot quicker in the opening stages of the race. Bagnaia may have to settle for third place again, behind the Marquez brothers.
Maverick Vinales slid out of the circuit after closing in on Joan Mir at Turn 12, with the infamous corner catching out another rider in the race this afternoon. Vinales slid onto the run-off and retired from the race on Lap 21.

FIERY FIGHT FOR FIFTH AS ALDEGUER HUNTS DOWN MORBIDELLI
Fermin Aldeguer looked excruciatingly close to snatching fifth place from Franco Morbidelli on Lap 17, as he tailed the VR46 rider into the first corner. Morbidelli gained much more speed in the first sector, but Aldeguer was right on his tail as he looked for another podium in Aragon. Morbidelli, however, hoped for a way back up to third place as he lost two positions on the opening lap from third place.
Behind, Marco Bezzecchi managed to gain 10 positions during the race, sitting in 10th place on Lap 18. The Aprilia rider is doing an incredible job at powering through the field, as he engaged in a battle with Fabio Di Giannantonio for ninth place.
Aldeguer and Morbidelli went side-by-side into the back straight as they squeezed through the corner heading into Lap 19. The rookie was certainly not playing it safe as he looked to sneak past Morbidelli through the first corner.

ALEX RETAINS SECOND PLACE BUT BAGNAIA IS MUCH QUICKER
Somehow, Alex Marquez has managed to hold on to second place despite Francesco Bagnaia's advances. The Gresini rider looked to be struggling on the low-grip track, which made us believe that Bagnaia could pass him with ease (especially on a faster bike). However, Bagnaia still sat behind Marquez on Lap 14 as he set the fastest lap of the race again.
Behind, Fabio Di Giannantonio pulled off a great move on Joan Miraround Turn 13 for eighth place, jumping Maverick Vinales a corner later. The battle for seventh was ignited as Vinales looked to snatch the place back and target Fermin Aldeguer for the position.
The top three riders pulled 1.5s away from Pedro Acosta running in fourth place, after his teammate retired from the race. Franco Morbidelli was nowhere near Acosta, who was running three full seconds ahead of Morbidelli on Lap 16.
Marc Marquez looked close to securing another victory on his home soil, holding a comfortable lead of 2.3s over his brother Alex in second.

MARQUEZ SETS FASTEST LAP AS TWO RIDERS CRASH OUT
Francesco Bagnaia is on fire as he targets Alex Marquez for a second-place finish at the Grand Prix Aragon. Alex seemed much slower than his Ducati Lenovo counterparts while he defended hard from Bagnaia's advances. Alex's tyres began to slowly wear away while Bagnaia sat just behind his rear, waiting for an opportunity to pounce.
The two KTM riders looked comfortable in fourth and fifth place as Pedro Acosta was slowly closing the gap down to Bagnaia in third place. Acosta gained incredible speed on the straight as the duo looked for a way to sneak onto the podium, hoping to jump the Ducati riders in front. Unfortunately, Brad Binder slid out of the race at Turn 3 on Lap 12 of the race, running too wide in the slippery corner.
At the front of the pack, Marc Marquez pulled 2.5s away from his brother in second place, who was doing well to hold off the advances of Bagnaia. At the halfway point of the race, Marc continued to set the fastest lap of the race as he breezed through the track.
Another rider, Fabio Quartararo, has slid out of the race at Turn 1, retiring from the race.

BAGNAIA SETS SIGHTS ON ALEX MARQUEZ
The gap at the front was increasing with each lap, with Marc Marquez running 0.3s faster than the rest of the pack. Marquez set another new lap record with the fastest time of the race, pulling him 0.8s away from Alex Marquez on Lap 8. The gap quickly increased to 1.2s by the end of the lap as his brother fell under attack from Francesco Bagnaia. The Gresini rider looked to be struggling with grip as he sped through the first turn of Lap 9, falling 0.5s slower than both the Ducati Lenovo rider.
Francesco Bagnaia managed to close the gap to Alex Marquez, and was right on his tail through the lap. Bagnaia looked for a way around Alex down through Turn 12, but Alex held off the attack as a yellow flag was called in Sector 3 as Johann Zarco slid off the track at Turn 12. Bagnaia did not pull off the move on Lap 9 but he crept closely behind the Gresini through the opening of Lap 10.

MARQUEZ COSY IN THE LEAD WHILE BAGNAIA PICKS UP THE PACE
Marc Marquez looked incredibly comfortable in the lead of the Grand Prix Aragon on Lap 5 as he cruised around the track, leading his younger brother Alex who was sat in second place. The brothers managed to pull away from the rest of the pack in the early stages of the race, with Alex sitting 0.5s ahead of Francesco Bagnaia in third place. However, Bagnaia put in his best lap of the race and managed to cut the gap down to 0.3s shortly after.
Behind, Franco Morbidelli was defending his sixth-place position from rookie Fermin Aldeguer, who was looking to secure another podium in Aragon after his success during the sprint yesterday. The Gresini rider tailed Morbidelli through the straight, but Morbidelli held off his attacks and set his sights on Brad Binder ahead.
The new fastest lap of the race came on Lap 7, from Brad Binder, who was flying around MotorLand Aragon. The two KTM riders are looking amazing as they speed around the circuit on their hard front tyres. It may seem that the hards could be the best tyre for the race, but graining could be an issue later on in the race.

BATTLE FOR THIRD IS RIFE BETWEEN ACOSTA AND BAGNAIA
The battle for third place was alive with Francesco Bagnaia having to defend from Pedro Acosta's advances. The KTM rider opted to use hard front tyres which gives him much better grip on the blisteringly hot track. Acosta tailed Bagnaia through the starting straight and attempted to overtake the Italian through the first turn, but he ran ever-so-slightly wide and Bagnaia was able to keep the place. Meanwhile, Alex Marquez has slowly inched away from the battle behind, pulling 0.5s ahead of Bagnaia by the middle of Lap 4.
The scrap began to fire up as Acosta was building more speed on each lap, running almost 0.5s quicker than Bagnaia. However, Acosta keeps running wide through the corners after building up speed. MotorLand Aragon is one of those tricky tracks that can catch riders out when they use these tactics in high-speed corners.

MARC MARQUEZ LEADS ARAGON GP WHILE BAGNAIA BATTLES WITH ACOSTA AND ALEX
Marc Marquez got off to an excellent start, but his teammate Francesco Bagnaia shot off the line and stormed up to third place before the first turn. Alex Marquez was forced into defence as the Italian rider looked for a move on the younger Marquez brother, trying to snatch the position around Turn 7. The Gresini rider defended well against Bagnaia, and managed to hold on to the position through the final sector.
Pedro Acosta climbed up to fourth place after overtaking Franco Morbidelli in the early stages of the race, and engaged in a battle with his teammate Brad Binder for track position. Yesterday's podium-sitter Fermin Aldeguer was running in sixth place on the second lap before Morbidelli stole his position back. Ahead, Acosta pulled off a seriously risky move on Bagnaia for third place as he tailed the two-time world champ through the straight and snuck around him through the inside of the corner. Bagnaia, however, regained the position on the long straight after picking up a slipstream on the KTM.

FIVE MINUTES TO GO
There are just five minutes to go until the riders set off around MotorLand Aragon for a thrilling race on the iconic Spanish circuit. The riders are lined up on the grid under the blistering sunshine.
Most riders are using the medium front tyres as the hard fronts are much stiffer than last year's compound. The soft rear tyre may not last very well as the track temperature is nearing 50°c, so the medium rear is certainly the way to go.
Which Marquez brother will stand on the top step of the podium?

HOME HEROES
There are nine Spanish riders lined up to compete at the Grand Prix Aragon this afternoon, all hoping to prove victorious on home soil. The most likely of those is certainly the Marquez brothers, but there are so many talented Spanish riders on the grid.
Pedro Acosta starts in fifth place, just behind Francesco Bagnaia, who has been struggling with the grip all weekend. Although Acosta has also struggled with grip, Aragon is one of his best tracks on the calendar. Hopefully, he can outmanoeuvre the two-time world champion and seal an all-Spanish podium like the sprint yesterday.
Both Fermin Aldeguer and Maverick Vinales are starting in the top ten, with two more Spanish riders ready to take the fight to the front of the pack. The young rookie has performed well in his debut season, earning two top-ten finishes and a podium in France. Aldeguer even managed to stand on the podium during the sprint yesterday. Vinales has some tricks up his sleeve, hoping to earn his first win of the season.
Will a Spaniard stand on the top step today?

MORE MARQUEZ BATTLES FOR THE BIG POINTS
The Grand Prix Aragon is set to be another battle between the Marquez brothers as they both look to bask in glory on their home soil. Marc Marquez sits atop the Riders’ Standings with a 27-point lead over his brother Alex in second place. The two brothers are far from the others, though, with Alex having a 57-point buffer to Francesco Bagnaia in third place.
Marc could have the chance to become a seven-time world champion in the premier class this season, giving him his long-awaited redemption arc after his horrific crash a few years back. The infamous crash at the 2020 season-opener in Jerez would have destroyed most riders’ careers, but Marc Marquez is truly built different.
He fought tooth and nail to return to his top form, ending his 1042-day winless drought at Aragon last year. It has been six years since he last clinched the title. Can he do it again, 12 years after the first one?
For Alex, the story is rather different. He has been taunted and ridiculed ever since he set foot in the sport. Most people wrote him off for being the younger brother of a six-time world champion. They tend to forget that Alex claimed both the Moto3 and Moto2 titles before heading to the premier class.
This could be the year that Alex finally proves everyone wrong, with his first victory in Spain coming after a long-awaited struggle. Even Marquez’s mother is rooting for Alex, so can he pull it off?

A TRICKY TIME FOR PECCO
It certainly has not been the best start to the year for Francesco Bagnaia. Although he sits third in the Riders’ Championship, it’s nothing compared to the title fight he engaged in last season. The Italian rider has been on the back foot of his teammate Marc Marquez, the six-time world champion.
Bagnaia has been struggling with the Ducati GP25 all season, talking of inconsistencies in pace and balance. He has, however, claimed three podiums and a victory on Sundays this season, which, if you ask most riders, is a good run.
Nonetheless, rumours in the paddock have been fluttering around about Bagnaia moving to Yamaha, but the two-time world champion has shut down that talk this weekend.
Bagnaia said: "That I don’t understand why because when there is a contract, there is a contract signed.
"I told you Thursday in Silverstone that I will never quit what I sign and this is something I never change in my life.
"I want to stay at Ducati, Ducati wants me to stay till they finish off this contract and the next one so I don’t know why I'm seeing a lot of [fake] posts of me in blue leathers!
"It’s true that a rider like me, that is, not in crisis, but in some hard moment, people can start thinking ‘maybe he will go’ but it's not what is happening right now to me."
12:35
LACK OF GRIP AT ARAGON AGAIN?
KTM has been reporting issues of a lack of surface grip at the Motorland Aragon throughout the weekend so far, with talk of sand on the track. There was a storm going through Spain last week, starting from the south, which likely blew some debris on the track.
Last summer, the track’s surface was one of the main talking points of the Grand Prix Aragon. Riders were nervous to take to the newly resurfaced track, and it is only marginally better this year.
Pedro Acosta shared: "The track has the worst grip of the whole season so far, even worse than Montmelo, where mostly the rear tyre suffers.
"Then there are a lot of complex changes in direction for the tyres in terms of temperature, that’s why it’s easy to fall at Turns 2 and 5.
"It’s usually hot here, and there aren’t many critical corners except for Turn 2, but it was disastrous.
"The sand is lifted. I honestly thought I would find it in better conditions than in 2024."
