UFC London: Dominant Julija Stoliarenko produces armbar stoppage to defeat Molly McCann

Julija Stoliarenko produced a signature armbar to claim a brilliant win over Molly McCann at UFC London.

The co-main event saw Liverpool’s McCann take on Stoliarenko in a clash of styles at the O2 Arena.

McCann’s style is to finish fights on her feet, while Stoliarenko is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

A cagey start saw Stoliarenko keep McCann at bay before taking the fight to the ground mid-way through the opening round.

Those inside the O2 had immediate concerns for McCann, and those proved well founded as Stoliarenko manoeuvred her opponent into position before flipping her and forcing the armbar and McCann to tap out.

“I expected that,” Stoliarenko said. “I always expect to finish and knew I could finish it in any round.

“With my record, you can expect a finish in the first round.”

It was a dominant win and Stoliarenko is ready for whoever is next.

“I don’t care,” Stoliarenko said. “Whatever UFC will bring me.”
