Bryson DeChambeau had a slow start to the 2026 LIV Golf season, finishing 17th in Riyadh, third in Adelaide and 24th in Hong Kong. Things improved in the fourth event in Singapore, as a blistering effort in the second round saw him take the lead. The American was still in the lead when he got to the fifth hole, and he had a moment to forget when falling over after playing a shot.

Bryson DeChambeau had an "undignified" moment during the third round of LIV Golf Singapore when he fell into a bunker.
The American, leading the tournament by two shots at that point after a superb second round, was unfortunate to see his tee shot come to rest in the rough near a bunker.
When he reached his ball, DeChambeau was greeted with the sight of it buried in the rough and also at an awkward angle.
At address, the ball was at the same height as the American’s knees - which forced him to swing around his body.
Summing up the challenge DeChambeau faced, commentator David Feherty said: "Talk about a tough shot."
DeChambeau is never one to take the easy option, and he went for the high-tariff effort rather than chip out sideways.
It did not pay off, as he struck the ball with the toe of his club, and it went a long way right. To rub salt into the wound, DeChambeau found himself face down after toppling over into a bunker.
"Not the most elegant of follow-throughs," Feherty said, with laughter heard in the commentary box.
"The ball was so far above his feet. He catches it out of the toe, trying to hold the club face square. Then he loses his left foot. And there she goes, timber.
"Just undignified."

Nicolas Colsaerts was alongside Feherty in the commentary box, and he felt DeChambeau was fortunate to avoid injury.
"This will be an interesting slow-mo," Colsaerts said. "You can easily injure your wrist when you take a fall like that on a bank."
DeChambeau dusted himself off and trudged forward to find his ball in a bunker, and it resulted in him signing for a bogey on the fifth hole.
He struggled on the greens for much of the round, but was able to make a birdie on the 18th to sit one shot behind the leaders.
Wedges have not been good
Speaking to TNT Sports before the third round, DeChambeau said he had made the decision to change his wedges to fix what he perceived to be a weak spot in his game.
"My wedges have not been good," DeChambeau said. "I really have not gone through the whole kit and caboodle with my wedges.
"I am stable with the driver, stable with the putter, really comfortable with those. But I am fixing my wedges.
"It is mainly because I could not control my wedges, flying long, flying short. I am sick of it, I am done. It is time for me to change."
For a large portion of his career, DeChambeau has used similar lengths of shafts for all his irons, when the conventional route is to shorten the length of shafts as the loft increases, and he may make that change.
"I don’t care if I go back to the shortest wedges, it does not matter, I am going to improve my wedges," DeChambeau concluded.
