EMOTIONAL DENNIS SECURES FIRST ANDRETTI 1-2 FINISH WITH EMPHATIC VICTORY
Jake Dennis powered through a hectic race at the Sanya Street Circuit to score the first-ever 1-2 finish for Andretti Global, dedicating his win to his father-in-law, who recently passed away.
His team-mate, Felipe Drugovich, found himself in second place after the chaos died down, continuing his brilliant run in Formula E.
Pepe Marti earned the second podium of his rookie season, scoring a third-place finish in Hainan after climbing from 18th place to third.
A handful of penalties were slapped on drivers towards the end of the race, after a chaotic series of events saw two yellow flags and a full red flag.
There will be a 12-day gap between races in China, with Round 12 taking place in Shanghai on July 4.

MARTI: "IT PLAYED IN OUR FAVOUR"
The rookie driver scored his second podium of the season in his first race at the Sanya Street Circuit, enjoying a brilliant debut campaign in Formula E.
Marti said: "I think it played in our favour. I mean, I was in the garage, doing repairs, trying to save the front.
"Then those last few laps after the restart, I was all attack. The team gave me a good car, I think we took the right call and took the attack mode.
"We were debating what lap to take, and I said let's go now, and you know if we waited one more, we probably would not have been here.
"Happy to be here again."

DRUGOVICH: 'I COULDN'T BE MORE PLEASED WITH THE TEAM'
It was a pleasant surprise for Felipe Drugovich to end up back on the podium after a hectic race almost finished him off, but he clinched second place in the end.
Drugovich said: "Yeah, it's a crazy result for the team, for me as well, I'm super happy already, you know, two podiums in a row for me.
"I couldn't be more pleased with the team, and a big congrats to Jake, he did an amazing job the whole weekend.
"I think we have a car that is really good, and it's really good to see things working out, and also for both of us now, because I think when something worked for me, it didn't work for him, and then vice versa.
I was, you know, in a tough position at the end, and I managed to come back to the podium."

DENNIS: 'TO GET THE WIN FOR HIM MEANS A LOT'
Jake Dennis clinched the Sanya ePrix victory in dramatic fashion, dedicating his win to his father-in-law who recently passed away.
Dennis said: "It was an incredible race. I didn't think the red flag helped us at the worst possible stage, but you know, we managed to turn it around.
"We were super efficient on those last 15 laps, and we managed to get the win. To see Felipe on my gearbox towards the end was a nice surprise, you know, it's really difficult to manage these races, and we both did perfectly, so yeah, super happy.
"There's a lot of things, you know. I'm thinking of my partner's family right now. It's been a lot at home lately, and to get the win for him means a lot to me.
It's just an amazing day, and I never get emotional. My fiancé will be like, he never cries, but yeah, to do it for Bob is a big, big thing.
"Yeah, I mean, my engineer was amazing at keeping me calm and keeping me on a level playing field, and he's the best in the business for that."

ANDRETTI SCORE 1-2 FINISH WITH DENNIS VICTORY
Oliver Rowland has slammed into the wall, causing yellow flags to be called on the final lap of the race. Heading into Turn 4, he ran wide and locked up, shunting the wall. Prior to the yellow flag, Jake Dennis led Antonio Felix da Costa, and his teammate sat in third place.
There are two corners of green flag racing, and Jake Dennis brings it home for Andretti. He has won his second race of the season, with his teammate, Felipe Drugovich, securing a 1-2 finish for the team. Pepe Marti also scored a podium finish after utilising his ATTACK MODE in the final lap.

ANDRETTI CREEP BACK IN WITH DENNIS IN THE LEAD
Jake Dennis managed to pull one out of the woodwork and shot up to the front of the pack using his remaining ATTACK MODE, stealing the lead from Oliver Rowlan. His Andretti teammate is not too far behind either, sitting in fifth place on Lap 35 with a minute of ATTACK MODE left.
Antonio Felix da Costa and Pascal Wehrlein are occupying second and third place, despite having five-second penalties to take. It could work out to be an Andretti 1-2 as predicted at the start of the race, but there is still Nyck de Vries to reckon with as he runs in eighth place on ATTACK MODE.
There will be two added laps at the end of this race.
34/37
PENALTIES DISHED OUT FOR WEHRLEIN AND DA COSTA
The minute it went back to green flag conditions, Oliver Rowland deployed his final four minutes of ATTACK MODE in hopes of catching Antonio Felix da Costa. Da Costa received a five-second time penalty for a collision at Turn 6 earlier in the race, so it could be Rowland's win to take if he plays his cards right. Pascal Wehrlein has also picked up a five-second time penalty for the collision with Norman Nato.
Any chance of da Costa winning the race has slimmed out, but he has deployed ATTACK MODE to create a buffer in the mean time. Rowland managed to snatch the lead from him anyway, and should be able to hold on to it, provided his strategy works well in the closing stages of the race.
Lucas Di Grassi has shot up to fourth place using ATTACK MODE, but there are also five other drivers with four minutes of ATTACK MODE who could steal the positions he has gained. This includes Jake Dennis, Jean Eric Vergne, Pascal Wehrlein, Zane Maloney, and Maximilian Gunther.

YELLOW FLAGS AS NATO SLAMS INTO WALL
Antonio Felix da Costa has taken the lead of the race from the Nissan driver, as expected, with a full two minutes of ATTACK MODE left on Lap 26. At this point, the only other driver using ATTACK MODE is Taylor Barnard, down in 15th place.
Energy levels are falling across the board, with no driver possessing more than 40%. It should be a scrap to the end of the race, with the conditions heating up with every lap. The tropical conditions are eating up a lot more energy than expected.
Norman Nato has slammed into the wall on Lap 27 while heading into Turn 3, and he will need to recover the car, otherwise we will be held up again. A Full Course Yellow has been called while Nato lugs his car to a safe place.
25/37
ROWLAND LEADS BUT DA COSTA IS ON HIS WAY
Oliver Rowland's ATTACK MODE deployment worked perfectly, with the Nissan champion snatching the lead of the race from Jake Dennis on Lap 23. However, Nico Mueller has also deployed ATTACK MODE while in third place, and quickly slotted in behind the Nissan.
Rowland does possess more ATTACK MODE than the Porsche driver, and may be able to hold him off for a while longer. Another spanner in the works was thrown by Antonio Felix da Costa, who deployed his six minutes of ATTACK MODE. The reigning champion may be able to hold off Mueller, but it will be a challenge to defend from the Jaguar.
Somehow, the Andretti duo have completely fallen back to fourth and seventh place, as the chaos of ATTACK MODE has quickly shuffled the order.

ANDRETTI NAIL THE RESTART
Jake Dennis nailed the restart, with the Andretti duo storming ahead of the Porsche duo of Pascal Wehrlein and Nico Muller. Felipe Drugovich has the big job of holding off Wehrlein while his teammate holds strong at the front of the pack.
Oliver Rowland immediately deployed ATTACK MODE while in 13th place, when the field is bunched up. He gained two positions with ease, taking the fight on to Sebastien Buemi.

RACE RESUMES
The race has resumed under the Safety Car, and the drivers are filling into the correct starting positions for green flag racing. It is due to be a standing start.
20/37
RED FLAG
The wall at Turn 9 was damaged in the accident that caused the red flag. There was no massive shunt, rather than it being a lack of space at Turn 9. When Evans was turning towards the left, his front wheel became interlocked with Zane Maloney's, which caused the pile-up. Around eight drivers were caught up in the mess, including Maloney, Lucas Di Grassi, Nyck de Vries, and Dan Ticktum.
A handful of cars are undergoing repairs in the garage, including the Cupra Kiro drivers who picked up some damage throughout the race.
19/37
ANDRETTI DUO BACK IN THE LEAD
Deploying ATTACK MODE in the midst of a battle, Pascal Wehrlein and the Andretti duo have joined the rest of the pack. A handful of drivers are currently using ATTACK MODE on Lap 17, but you could argue that the deployment could be considered a bit of a waste as they need to use the energy boost at the halfway point of the race.
At the front, Pascal Wehrlein put in a solid attempt to take the lead from Edoardo Mortara, but the Porsche driver was unable to snatch the position. Then, the Andretti duo came into the picture, both with a minute of ATTACK MODE left on Lap 18, to retake their top two spots.
At Turn 6, Dan Ticktum shunted the back of Mitch Evans and completely shattered the nose of his car. Then, at Lap 9, a huge pile-up occurred with red flags waved immediately.
16/37
MORTARA SHUNTS ROWLAND IN ATTACK MODE
It is an incredibly finicky race with the drivers squashed together throughout the track, there are no gaps being created and they are running like an ant trail. This caused Edoardo Mortara to run into the back of Oliver Rowland on the long straight, which has damaged the Nissan.
Meanwhile, at the front of the pack, Nick Cassidy has taken the lead of the race using his ATTACK MODE, but it may not last very long as Mortara has a minute of ATTACK MODE left as he runs in third place. Drivers including Mitch Evans, Sebastien Buemi, and Jean-Eric Vergne are also in ATTACK MODE as we head into Lap 17.
12/37
ATTACK MODE STRATEGY SWITCHES UP THE ORDER
Pascal Wehrlein managed to snatch the lead from Jake Dennis towards the end of Lap 8, leading the pack through the tight street circuit. This put both of the Andretti drivers under severe pressure from Mitch Evans, the current championship leader, who quickly stole the positions and put his efforts into the fight with Wehrlein. However, Dennis was able to tail behind the Porsche driver and take his lead of the race back, forcing Wehrlein to scrap it out with Evans.
Zane Maloney's ATTACK MODE strategy has catapulted him up to third place, pushing Mitch Evans down the order. The Lola driver had 30 seconds of ATTACK MODE left when he engaged in a battle with Dan Ticktum who also used his ATTACK MODE.
On Lap 12, Wehrlein holds the lead of the race but Ticktum is very close behind with a minute left on his ATTACK MODE.

WEHRLEIN SPLITS THE ANDRETTI DUO
It is looking very promising for Andretti at the moment, with Jake Dennis comfortably in the lead of the race on Lap 6. Felipe Drugovich has been conserving energy while staying very close to his teammate in the lead, but fell under pressure from Mitch Evans, who has made multiple attempts to snatch second place from the Andretti.
The Andretti duo are definitely holding up the pack, with the drivers running around the track like a pack of sardines. There is barely any space in the corners for the drivers to make any overtakes, but Pascal Wehrlein was able to steal third place from Mitch Evans. The Porsche driver then pulled off a sneaky overtake on Felipe Drugovich around Turn 9 on Lap 7, splitting the two Andretti drivers.
Zane Maloney is the first of the drivers on the grid to deploy ATTACK MODE, starting in 15th place. He used six minutes of his ATTACK MODE in one deployment, shooting up to seventh place by the time we got to Lap 8.
4/37
TICKTUM IS ON THE WAY
The championship leader, Mitch Evans, put in the fastest lap of the race on Lap 3 as he stormed around the street circuit looking for a way to overtake Felipe Drugovich. As it stands, the Andretti duo are standing strong in the lead of the race, while these early stages of the race will revolve around energy management.
When heading into the tight Turn 9, Oliver Rowland was almost clipped by Nick Cassidy as he looked to overtake the Citroen driver. In a flash, Dan Ticktum overtook Mitch Evans heading into Lap 5, before Evans snatched the place back.

DENNIS HOLDS ONTO POLE
Polesitter Jake Dennis got off to a blistering start, defending hard from his teammate Felipe Drugovich in the first corner. Meanwhile, Nyck de Vries engages in a battle with Oliver Rowland as he tries to climb up the order. Rowland came out on top, however, and gained two positions on the opening lap.
A yellow flag was waved at Turn 9, but it was quickly back to green flags a moment later.

FIVE MINUTES TO GO
There are just five minutes to go until green flags are waved, and the excitement is certainly bubbling. Can Jake Dennis convert this pole into a victory for Andretti?

SEVEN YEARS LATER WE RETURN
It has been seven years since Formula E last raced in Sanya. With a fresh cohort of drivers and entirely new cars, it will be a great challenge to navigate the circuit today. Out of all the current drivers on the grid, only eight have raced here before.
Jean-Eric Vergne was the first to win on this street circuit, despite Oliver Rowland taking pole position. Interestingly enough, nearly a decade later, those two drivers look to be some of the strongest in Hainan.
Being a street circuit, the track surface has changed a lot in the time since Formula E last ventured here. It will possess the normal wear and tear that any street track would, with regular maintenance not being a crucial part of the off-season. Although the drivers seem to be managing well so far.
