ROWLAND'S JEDDAH VICTORY CEMENTS TITLE FIGHT
Nissan driver Oliver Rowland gave fans a masterclass in conserving energy during the Jeddah ePrix, emerging victorious to lead an all-British podium.
His miraculous drive has cemented his name in the 2025 title fight as Rowland now leads the drivers' standings by 17 points.
Rowland finished ahead of the youngest Formula E polesitter, Taylor Barnard, who scored double podiums this weekend for McLaren.
Barnard has enjoyed a wildly successful start to his Formula E career, smashing the record for youngest polesitter and claiming two podiums in his rookie season.
Rounding off the all-British podium, Jake Hughes finished in third place and claimed his first podium for his new team, Maserati.
The teams' standings have shuffled too as Nissan climbed to the top step, one point clear of McLaren in second place.
Despite one of their drivers retiring, Porsche remained in the top three of the teams' standings as the top three are separated by four points.
The next Formula E race is set to take place in Miami on April 12.

HUGHES: COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE
Rounding off an all-British podium, Maserati's Jake Hughes secured his first podium finish for his new team Maserati in a spectacular Jeddah race.
Hughes said: "Yeah, he [Barnard] did a very good job.
"To be fair to him, I felt like it was a little bit on the edge, at least in the one in turn one.
"But ignoring that for the moment, I think super happy with today.
"You know, missing FP3, mostly getting into the duels and the semi-final and then coming away with my first podium for the team.
"Couldn't ask for more really.
"When I was back in P9, that really wasn't the plan.
"Our plan before the race was to really look after the energy.
"It meant that for a five-lap window, I was looking a little bit on edge in terms of my position in the pack.
"But we recovered really well with the attack mode, we used the energy when we needed to."

BARNARD: SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO BE AGGRESSIVE
McLaren's rookie driver Taylor Barnard has had a glorious first trip to Jeddah, scoring two podiums and smashing the qualifying record this weekend.
His double podium launched him into the title fight, now sitting second in the drivers' standing behind the race winner Oliver Rowland.
Barnard said: "Coming into this weekend, I didn't expect to get a podium.
"So to leave here with massive points for the team and for myself, I couldn't be happier right now.
"I think I struggled a little bit for energy, honestly, I struggled from the first five laps.
"I think we took four and four for an attack and Oli took two six, which is potentially where we lost it.
"But I can't be disappointed at all. You know, two podiums. I'm super happy right now.
"Absolutely sometimes you have to be extra aggressive.
"You have to, you have to do that to keep the podium or the P2 I mean, yeah, sometimes you have to do what you have to do."

ROWLAND: IT WAS THE PERFECT SCENARIO
Nissan driver Oliver Rowland secured his second victory of the season in dominant fashion after teaching the grid a masterclass in conserving energy. After running out of energy on the final lap on Friday, Rowland pulled one back and finished with 1% more energy than his counterparts.
Rowland said: "I think the key was, in the beginning, obviously, I dropped back to third, which I was quite happy with.
"I could make the most of an efficient slipstream, so I was able to build up a couple of percent, and that allowed me to just be more aggressive, break the toe from the others, then use energy to try and catch back up.
"It was pretty much the perfect scenario, to be honest.
"I had a little bit of contact with Gunther in the chicane, he was overly aggressive on the outside, and I got stuck on him.
"But that's the point when I went to the front, because I said being third or fourth, people are starting to get aggressive. So I got out of trouble and went to the front and just did my own race."

ROWLAND LEADS AN ALL-BRITISH PODIUM IN JEDDAH
Oliver Rowland led home an all-British podium at the Jeddah ePrix to extend his lead at the top of the drivers' standings. The Nissan driver claimed his second win of the season, ahead of young British McLaren driver Taylor Barnard and Maserati's Jake Hughes.
Barnard made history earlier on Saturday as the youngest driver to earn a pole position in Formula E, and has secured two podiums this weekend in a glorious first Jeddah outing. The young McLaren star is in his rookie Formula E season after making the step up from Formula 2 to the electric series.
The all-British podium can be extended to the top four finishers being British, Formula E's highest British roster in a decade. Jake Hughes has also earned his very first podium for Maserati in Season 11.

ROWLAND WINS THE JEDDAH E-PRIX
Nissan's Oliver Rowland took his second win of the season at the Jeddah ePrix in glorious fashion, pulling four seconds ahead of the rest of the pack. While the Briton was cruising ahead, chaos unfolded behind with a three-way battle for the podium slot.
Taylor Barnard emerged victorious from that three-way battle around the final chicane, retaining second place ahead of Maserati's Jake Hughes who settled for third place.
30/31
ROWLAND TIGHTLY GRIPS THE LEAD
In the crucial final stage of the race, Oliver Rowland opted to use his six minutes of Attack Mode to regain his race lead from Andretti's Jake Dennis. Another retirement is seen by Mitch Evans, who fled to the pits on Lap 26.
Apart from Dennis, the top four drivers are using their final minutes of Attack Mode to power through the closing stages. Rowland managed to snatch back the lead from Dennis, putting him in a vulnerable place between Attack Mode drivers.
On Lap 27, Dennis fell under severe pressure from Jean-Eric Vergne who held two minutes of Attack Mode while Dennis had run out by this point. Barnard pulled off an incredible double overtake on the final chicane that pushed him up to second place.
The young McLaren driver now sits closely behind the race leader Rowland who flies around the circuit. Dennis, however, has fallen from brief glory to fifth place after running out of Attack Mode. Vergne has been warned by his crew to conserve energy wherever possible, as he may run out by the final lap.
Lap 29 saw Rowland and Vergne run out of Attack Mode, with the top three all running on just 9% energy left. Rowland held a 1.7s lead to Barnard who ran over the curb and miraculously recovered. Heading into Lap 30, Hughes put up a fight to Barnard on the starting straight. He crept up and was side-by-side with the McLaren going into the first turn, but Barnard slammed the door shut and forced Hughes to run wide.

DENNIS USURPS ROWLAND'S LEAD USING ATTACK MODE
Taylor Barnard slips out of first place after losing the position to Oliver Rowland heading down into the Bus Stop chicane on Lap 20. The two Britons have been trading the lead since the start of the race, with similar energy levels for them. Rowland slightly out-paces Barnard, running 0.2s quicker a lap. As well as this, it seems like the Nissan driver conserves energy slightly better than Barnard with 1% more once again.
Rowland has 39% energy heading into Lap 21 with ten to go, also possessing six minutes worth of Attack Mode to deploy when needed. A third party crept into the picture on Lap 22 in the form of Jaguar's Nick Cassidy searching for points in Jeddah.
Sitting in third place on Lap 23, Cassidy is in desperate need of points in the standings as Jaguar has so far failed to score this weekend. The advantage of Attack Mode has become increasingly more apparent as the race goes on, with drivers shooting up to 10 places in a few laps.
Jake Dennis was powering through the circuit using Attack Mode with a damaged nose, jumping both Cassidy and Barnard for second place. By Lap 24, Dennis snatched the lead from Rowland before the Nissan driver deployed his six minutes' worth of Attack Mode.
20/31
ROWLAND AND BARNARD TRADE THE LEAD
Oliver Rowland regains the lead of the Jeddah ePrix using his Attack Mode to overtake Robin Frijns on the starting straight on Lap 15. The Nissan driver has only used two minutes of his Attack Mode to break away from the rest of the field, saving six minutes for the final stage of the race.
However, Lap 16 saw Taylor Barnard deploy his Attack Mode too, using four minutes to find his chances of a win again. The McLaren driver had a 1.5s gap to cut down on Lap 16, which soon appeared to be pretty easy as Rowland ran out of Attack Mode a lap earlier.
The lead of the race was swapped once again with Barnard reclaiming his lead on the opening of Lap 17. With a minute and a half of Attack Mode left, Barnard effectively deployed the same strategy as fellow Briton Rowland.
Meanwhile, the midfield saw the reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein struggle in eighth place after a poorly timed use of Attack Mode left him in a busy train of drivers. Stuck behind Mitch Evans, Wehrlein is not facing a glorious start to the season.
Evans' teammate Nick Cassidy had climbed up to fifth place by Lap 19, overtaking Dan Ticktum for the position in the dirty middle sector. There is still debris on the track after the Lap 1 collision between the Porsche and Penske.
15/31
ENVISION'S FRIJNS JUMPS BRITS FOR LEAD
By Lap 10, Oliver Rowland struggles to pull away from the rest of the pack and falls under severe pressure from the polesitter and Jean-Eric Vergne. Taylor Barnard managed to climb back up to second place with 69% energy, however the race leader Rowland possesses 2% more energy than the majority of the field.
Conserving energy while leading the race, Rowland pulled 0.4s ahead of Barnard on Lap 11. On the entry to Lap 12, an Envision racing car jumped ahead of the two Britons to lead the race using Attack Mode. Robin Frijns leads the pack around the Jeddah Corniche Circuit at the halfway stage of the race, hoping to push his Attack Mode to the limit and pull a gap.
In the midfield, Jake Hughes engages in a fierce battle with Dan Ticktum for seventh place. The two of them were surpassed by Mitch Evans using his Attack Mode to shoot up to fifth place on Lap 13. The reigning champion sits in the middle of two battles, running in sixth place after finishing his Attack Mode early on.
At the end of Lap 14, Rowland decided to deploy two minutes of Attack Mode. His strategy worked well off the jump as he shot up to first place by the start of Lap 15.
10/31
ROWLAND SNATCHES LEAD
The midfield has become rather bunched up with the drivers' newfound power from the Gen3 Evo in use. Two other drivers have decided to use their Attack Mode on Lap 7, including the reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein who used a slipstream to jump up to seventh place. He managed to pull off a double overtake on Dan Ticktum and Jake Hughes for fifth place.
Meanwhile, at the front of the pack, Oliver Rowland has snatched the lead from Taylor Barnard who has dropped to fourth place in the midst of Attack Mode usage from other drivers. Rowland has yet to use his Attack Mode, but conserved some energy by following Barnard's slipstream.
Wehrlein now sits in third place behind veteran Formula E driver Jean-Eric Vergne who holds the second slot on the podium. Positions are swapping throughout the middle sector on Lap 9 as the drivers force their way through the chicanes.
5/31
BARNARD LEADS WHILE FELLOW BRITS CHASE
Polesitter Taylor Barnard leads the Jeddah ePrix while his fellow Briton Jake Hughes chases the McLaren for the lead. Hughes sits just 0.8s behind Barnard on Lap 3 but is under threat from Oliver Rowland who creeps closely behind in third place.
Unfortunately for yesterday's race winner, Maximilian Gunther retired from the race after his mechanics deemed his car unsuitable to race after sustaining damage on the first lap. Antonio Felix da Costa also suffered a retirement from the race due to the same incident.
Only one driver decided to use Attack Mode in this early stage of the race, Lola driver Lucas di Grassi. Using half of his Attack Mode, di Grassi has climbed from 16th place all the way up to fifth place in a perfectly timed boost of energy.
With 40 seconds of Attack Mode left by Lap 5, Di Grassi shot up to second place in a hurry to claim the lead. The Lola driver set his targets on McLaren driver Barnard who leads the race from pole.

LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO
The start of the race was slightly delayed due to Zane Maloney being parked in the wrong starting position. When the lights went out, Taylor Barnard stormed away into Turn 1. Oliver Rowland tailed closely behind as they sped off the line but lost his second position to Jake Hughes at Turn 3.
Sam Bird managed to climb up to fourth place after some chaos unfolded at Turn 4 when Maximilian Gunther collided with Antonio Felix da Costa heading into the chicane. Yesterday's race winner sustained some front wing damage and fled to the pits with the Porsche following suit moments later.

FIVE MINUTES TO GO
As the Jeddah pre-race festivities draw to a close, the Formula E drivers fill their slots for a race start in just five minutes. This night race is set to shake up the championship as Porsche and Nissan are separated by three points in the teams' standings.
Formula E does race starts slightly differently from other racing series, with no need for a formation lap. The drivers take a grid position two spaces back from their actual starting slot and move up just before the start. The stage is set and the cars are lined up for a super exciting end to the Jeddah double-header.
16:55
BARNARD’S GLORIOUS WEEKEND
Young McLaren star Taylor Barnard has so far had a glorious weekend in Jeddah, with a third place finish in the race yesterday and a pole position today. Barnard made history today as the youngest driver in Formula E history to claim a pole position at just 20 years old.
In an all-British scrap for pole position, Barnard beat out Nissan driver Oliver Rowland for the front row start. Paired with yesterday’s podium finish, it looks like the NEOM McLaren driver has incredible speed this weekend.
Can the young Brit snag his first Formula E win today?
16:50
THE ABSENCE OF PORSCHE
In what was expected to be a Porsche-dominated weekend, the German motorsport giants fell short of their American counterparts. DS Penske’s Maximilian Gunther truly defined the race yesterday with a perfect recovery drive, claiming his first victory for the team.
Meanwhile, Nissan have found themselves in perhaps the sweetest spot as they now sit just three points behind Porsche in the teams’ standings. Their driver, Oliver Rowland, has also jumped Porsche’s Antonio Felix da Costa in the drivers’ standings, leading by four points.
Both Porsche drivers seemed to fade into the distance during the first Jeddah race, with the reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein falling from second to 15th place. His teammate Antonio Felix da Costa endured a slightly better fate, finishing in ninth place.
However, the Porsche duo performed much better today with fourth and fifth-fastest times during Free Practice and qualifying positions of fifth and 14th.
Will the second time be the charm?

HOW IS THE GEN3 EVO CAR?
Season 11 of Formula E has brought fans a new powerful electric car, the Gen3 Evo car. Following on the car that made last season a game-changer, this upgraded car boasts more power and an all-wheel drive.
Fans can see a clear difference between the old and new spec, with the new spec easily powering around corners and launching off the line seamlessly. As Formula E has progressed, their cars have become the fastest in motorsport off the line, capable of going from 0-62 mph in 1.82 seconds.
After taking part in a rookie test, Formula E driver Kush Maini shared: "The improvements we’ve made are just amazing, it was so fun to drive.
"I just really enjoyed myself and pushing the limits. It’s always a pleasure to jump in a Formula E car, but with the upgrades compared to last year it’s just another level."
16:40
THE ALL-NEW PIT BOOST
Formula E is finally ready to debut the new ‘Pit Boost’ feature this weekend in Jeddah after two long years of development. Fans will be able to witness fast-charging technology that can change the nature of the sport.
The new feature will revolutionise the mandatory pit stops during the race, gifting drivers a 10% energy boost (3.85kWh). This 34-second stop may require a driver to sacrifice their position, but it will greatly impact their performance in the end after reaping the benefits.
Pit Boost is a completely separate entity from Attack Mode, which is deployed twice in a race to increase power in short bursts. With the reintroduction of pit stops, Formula E has an entirely new field to play with.
It did in fact change the fate of the race yesterday, with the majority of drivers reporting huge increases in power after taking the boost. The boost was the main reason Gunther was able to come back from the midfield to secure victory.
16:35
HOW THE RACE WENT YESTERDAY
DS Penske's new signing Maximilian Gunther led an all-German front row with Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein. Gunther got off to a far better start than Wehrlein, who was shunted and suffered in the midfield for the rest of the race.
It was all going well for Gunther until he was caught by Nissan driver Oliver Rowland, who powered ahead and led the race until the very last corner. The introduction of Formula E’s all-new feature ‘Pit Boost’ threw a spanner in the works and left the polesitter in the midfield after leaving the pits.
Gunther managed to carefully utilise his new Pit Boost energy and Attack Mode to climb back up the field and pull off a fantastic last-lap overtake on Rowland around the final chicane. The Penske driver claimed his first victory for his new team, while the runner-up Rowland has jumped to the top of the drivers’ standings.
