Formula E star Jake Dennis believes the 2024 season will be the toughest of his career. The defending champion will once again be lead driver for Andretti, having recently signed a new long-term contract. The new campaign gets underway in Mexico City on January 13, and Dennis has been assessing his chances of a repeat success as he gets to grips with his car for the upcoming season.

Jake Dennis admits that defending his Formula E world title won't be easy this year.
The 28-year old enjoyed a record-breaking campaign in 2023, when he finished on the podium in 11 of the 16 races, recording two victories in the process.
That was enough to guide him to a maiden title as he ended the season 30 points clear of his nearest rival Nick Cassidy in the Driver's Championship.
However, the Brit is predicting a tough challenge from his rivals as he attempts to make it two in a row.
"I would expect the likes of DS will definitely close the gap to us," he said. "It's also still going to be difficult to beat Jaguar TCS Racing and the other Porsche team.
"Just trying to do what we did last year is going to be extremely difficult with that many podiums and wins.
"It's never easy when the competition closes up."
The 2024 season gets underway live on TNT Sports in Mexico City on January 13, and that should bring back happy memories for Dennis, who finished in pole position there 12 months ago.
His other race win last year was in Rome, while he also recorded the fastest lap in five of the 16 races.
The Nuneaton-born driver will once again be racing for Andretti, alongside new signing Norman Nato, who has been plucked from Nissan to replace Andre Lotterer and set a quicker lap time during testing in Valencia.
That gave an insight into the team's car for 2024, and it's something Dennis is pretty pleased with.
“We've still got an incredibly strong powertrain,” he added.
“I don't think there's too much development that can happen coming into this season.
"There's always tweaks here and there, but it's more probably fine tuning."
