Petter Birkrem, from the estate agent handling the sale, described the property to Norway's DN newspaper as Schumacher's "refuge from the media pursuit he has suffered throughout his life".
And in an effort to protect Schumacher's privacy further, all potential viewers were vetted before being allowed into the house - without cameras or mobile phones.
Before a skiing accident in 2014 in which he suffered serious head trauma, Schumacher and his family spent several months a year staying in the lodge enjoying winter sports.
The holiday home boasts a garage with space for seven cars - and 645 square metres of living space, plus a gym and spa.
Motorsport.com reported that Schumacher's health had little to do with the sale and that the family wanted to sell the property before his skiing accident.
