Double world champion Sebastian Vettel starts on pole for the inaugural Indian Grand Prix.

So, just two more races to go in this season, and once again Vettel is the man grabbing the headlines, although the Hamilton/Massa row may yet take another turn.

Button comes in second, some 6.7 seconds behind Vettel. Alonso is way back in third as he crosses the line, with Webber a second behind him.

Webber's DRS is not enough to see him overtake Alonso on the final lap and nick a place on the podium.

Vettel is threatening to win this race by more than six seconds from Button. He is currently 5.6 seconds ahead. Think he might win this one!

Having said that, Senna has just pitted while in ninth, and that drops him out of the top 10. Odd strategy from his team there.

Petrov is trying his utmost to catch up with Perez as the pair both make a late surge for a place in the points, but he's not getting close at the moment.

Another fastest lap from Vettel, clocking in at 1:27.7. Another exceptional race from the champion, going from pole to podium once again.

Some fabulous helicopter shots of the New Delhi circuit. This really is a great track. Beat that, New Jersey!

Home driver Karthikeyan pits for the second time while in 16th place. A shame the Indian drivers could get some points in front of his own crowd.

Interesting message on the team radio for Schumacher: "Michael, you are 1.5 seconds ahead of Nico with nine laps to go. You are free to race, but keep it clean!"

Schumacher is having a good race as he pits while in fifth. He rejoins the race in the same position, just ahead of team-mate Rosberg.

Make that 2.7 seconds! Vettel appears to be easing off, but the switch to the harder tyres for Button has really paid off.

Vettel's lead is down to 3.533 seconds right now. The German is not in any danger of being overtaken by button, but it is another decent showing from the 2009 champion.

Bruno Senna is now up into ninth place. Another good race from the Lotus driver.

Hamilton and Button both pit to switch to the harder tyres, as does Nico Rosberg.

Alonso is also benefiting from the switch to the hard tyres, as he is the quickest man through the middle sector.

Hamilton is having some sort of problem with his car. He is currently lapping a second slower than his McLaren team-mate Button, despite having no one immediately in front of him.

Another fastest lap for Vettel, posting a time of 1:28.5. It may not have been the most fascinating title race this season, but the young German is a worthy world champion.

The top four drivers in this race - Vettel, Button, ALonso and Webber - are also the top four int he championship standings.
