Felipe Massa’s son beats Daniel Ricciardo in go-kart race

The Australian responded to the challenge issued by Felipinho over social media, with the pair meeting on Friday afternoon to battle it out on a makeshift track laid out around deck chairs on Massa’s balcony.

Felipinho beat Ricciardo off the line to take an early lead he would never relinquish, holding off the three-time grand prix winner for 10 laps to claim victory on home soil.

Ricciardo was very gracious in defeat as he accompanied the Brazilian winner on the podium and enjoyed post-race celebrations with him.

As impressive as Massa Jr was, however, we can't help thinking that power-to-weight ratio might have proven more important than skill in deciding this particular race.
