The pair banged wheels right at the end of the session as Alonso tried to force his Renault inside the Red Bull three corners from the end of the lap.
Doornbos said: "I had a bit of an incident towards the end of the session. Everyone's trying to put in good laps, I was on a good time and ended up in a bit of a 'chicken' game with Alonso.
"It was a case of 'who's going to brake latest', but that's all there was to it."
"I am curious to see what he thinks, obviously it was great that he gave me a tow and it is a shame."
Spaniard Alonso though, dismissed the significance of the incident later on.
Alonso said: "We were on the straight together, I was fast on the straight because my car was quicker so we braked together and we locked the front tyres we lost control until we touched."
"But we were lucky that there was no damage to the car and we carried on.
"I didn't expect to have any problems there.
"I overtook three or four cars today and five or six cars overtook me today when I was with the graining period, and with all of them I didn't have any problem.
"But Doornbos has three or four incidents today. It is strange."
It is the second time in three weeks that the pair have had an altercation.
In practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix, Alonso felt that Doornbos had not moved far enough out of the way to let him through and brake-tested him into the next corner.
Alonso was penalised two seconds from his grid time for his part in that incident.
It is unknown whether or not the stewards will investigate this latest incident.
