Button overtakes his team-mate Sergio Perez! A fairly gentlemanly manoeuvre there... he goes sixth.

Di Resta into second place! He overtakes Grosjean and has every chance of putting his Force India on the second step of the podium.

Alonso comes out of the pits and it's more woe for the Spaniard as he emerges right under the gearbox of Pastor Maldonado. Not where he wants to be.

Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel has built a 22-second lead at the front. **SPOILER ALERT** He's going to win this race.

Three abreast down the straight! Rosberg, Button and Perez!! And both McLarens beat Rosberg to turn one! This is frantic stuff.

Lewis Hamilton reports tyres going off over the team radio. Mercedes continuing to struggle with tyres.

Rosberg and Perez pit in formation... and the Mercedes driver just gets out in front! Just a car length in it.

Nico Rosberg continues to shed places as Button overtakes him for the second time this afternoon and Grosjean follows suit - Button had not been happy about Rosberg's robust defence of his position.

Hamilton has only gained once place since the start and remains eighth. I don't think he'll be on the podium again today.

Mark Webber is in second place all of a sudden - the Aussie running a different tyre strategy, and he is on a long stint.

Jean-Eric Vergne has retired due to the damage on his car. Massa pits.

Massa is losing time here - Perez breezes past him, as does Hamilton. And you can see with the naked eye how ragged his right rear tyre is...

Now Raikkonen comes in, and his exit is slowed because a mechanic cannot get the jack out of the way in time!

So it's Kimi Raikkonen in second now - Lotus are good at preserving tyres and they look to be doing so again. The Finn yet to stop.

Now Perez looks up the inside of Grosjean but the Renault man shuts the door!

Fantastic action as Grosjean comes within a nanometres of Massa's rear wheel before backing off! This is the best Bahrain GP we have seen for a while.

Button sneaks inside Nico Rosberg going into turn one and the polesitter is down to seventh!

Listen to Di Resta's pit radio, it sounds like he'll be on a two-stopper - interesting!
