Vettel nicks it at the death yet again! 1-Vettel, 2-Hamilton, 3-Webber, 4-Button, 5-Rosberg, 6-Ricciardo, 7-Grosjean, 8-Perez, 9-Alonso, 10-Di Resta.

Hamilton... P2! And P4 for Button. POLE POSITION FOR VETTEL!!

Webber goes P1, but THEN VETTEL TRUMPS HIM!!

Here's Rosberg... he's a tenth up after the first sector... but slightly down after the middle sector... ONLY P4!

So, let's steel ourselves for the second and final blast. Mercedes readying Nico Rosberg for his only hot lap.

P4 for Vettel - he rather specialises in these late charges.

Hamilton P1 1:32.671, just ahead of Button and Webber - fractions in it.

Vettel, Webber, Button, Hamilton and Alonso on the track. The others might be settling for just a single stint.

Jenson Button is the first man out of the pits, and he is on used soft tyres.

And we're under way! Ten minutes to determine the grid...

And in Q3: Vettel, Webber, Button, Hamilton, Alonso, Rosberg, Grosjean, Di Resta, Perez, Ricciardo.

Eliminated: 11-Raikkonen, 12-Kobayashi, 13-Hulkenberg, 14-Massa, 15-Senna, 16-Kovalainen, 17-Maldonado.

Great lap from Perez to condemn Massa... and here comes Grosjean! All change on the timesheet and big names are tumbling. Alonso saves his bacon with a last gasp P4.

Di Resta goes fifth, which pushes Fernando Alonso into 11th! The Spaniard is on track and needs a lap - and if he does it he could relegate his team-mate Massa!

Massa climbs to P9, but that may not be enough to qualify. Rob Smedley looks happy, however.

Heikki Kovalainen has not posted a lap yet, presumably for the same reason. He has little realistic chance of making Q3. Still, seems a shame not to try having made it past the first cut.

Pastor Maldonado is not going to post a time in Q2, and will settle for 22nd on the grid with that five-place penalty for changing his gearbox. Not running allows him to start the race with his preferred setup.

Very tight at the top, with eight drivers under the 1:34 mark.
