CANADA TRIUMPH AS SOUTH AFRICA FALL SHORT
Canada moved into the round of 16 with a dramatic late win over South Africa.
The co-hosts finished second in their group, meaning they had to play in Los Angeles rather than their home country.
South Africa were one of nine African teams to progress from the group stages, but they created little throughout the match as they also became the first team to be knocked out of the round of 32.
It was Stephen Eustaquio who made the difference after few moments of quality in the match, with the Los Angeles FC man fizzing in an excellent half-volley from outside the box in injury time to decide the result.
It meant Canada secured a first World Cup knockout win in their history and were also able to use Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies for the first time in the tournament after he came on as a second-half substitute.
Their next match will come on Saturday, July 4, against the winner of Netherlands v Morocco, who play on Monday.

GOAL! SOUTH AFRICA 0-1 CANADA - EUSTAQUIO SCORES
A superb goal from Eustaquio may have won it. A cross is headed out, it comes to the No. 7, who chests it down and fizzes a volley into the far corner.

MBOKAZI TO THE RESCUE
Canada break, Oluwaseyi scoots down the middle as he is released for a shot on goal. It's blocked by the keeper, and Mbokazi races back to clear as it loops towards goal. Nothing from the corner.
