NAKAMURA TRIES TO CATCH OUT ALISSON
It's been almost all Brazil in the second half, but Japan just broke forward and, with players waiting in the box, Nakamura opted to surprise everyone with a long-range effort from the angle.
It's on target, but Alisson was wise to it and saved well.

GOAL! CASEMIRO HEADS BRAZIL LEVEL!
He had a torrid time in the first half, and he should have scored moments ago, but Brazil's veteran midfielder has just headed Brazil level.
It's another deep cross into the Japanese box, and the seasoned midfield anchorman is in the perfect spot at the back post to get up early and head back across goal and into the far corner.
The Brazilian fans in the stadium have exploded with joy, and it's game on in Houston!

TOMAYASU DENIES CASEMIRO!
No doubt about it, Brazil should be level. A header goes right across the Japanese goal, and Casemiro's diving header from point-blank range hits Japanese defender Tomayasu, who is stood right on the goal-line.
He didn't know much about it, but he just kept Japan in front.
Brazil are throwing crosses into the box and having some success. It feels like it's only a matter of time...

SUZUKI BRILLIANTLY DENIES GUIMARAES!
Bruno Guimaraes gets up highest in the Japanese box and plants a thumping header towards goal.
The Newcastle United midfielder must have thought he'd scored, but Suzuki reacted brilliantly to make the save.
Great header, even better save, and it's still 1-0.

CUNHA SHOOTS FROM RANGE
Brazil are starting to look a little frustrated. Japan are shutting them down in midfield, and defending stoutly at the back, and it's stifling the Brazilian attack so far.
It's forced the likes of Cunha to drop deep to get possession, and the Manchester United man tried a shot from 30 yards that was easily saved by Suzuki.

VINI JR TRIES HIS LUCK
Brazil are doing their best to find an equaliser as quickly as possible, but they haven't succeeded so far.
Vinicius Jr takes a pot-shot from range, but doesn't get the best connection and Suzuki gathers easily.

UEDA HEADS OVER!
Japan earn themselves a corner, and Ueda gets up well to head at goal, but he can't keep his effort down, and it flies over the crossbar.
So far, Japan's chances have been restricted to a couple of set plays, but their energy in midfield could become more of a factor as this game progresses.

SANO GETS AWAY WITH ONE
Matheus Cunha takes on Sano just outside the penalty area and is brought down by the Japanese midfielder. However, with the Brazilian knocking the ball behind just before the apparent foul, the referee waved off Cunha's appeals and awarded a goal kick.
It's just as well for Sano, as he's already on a yellow card.
Now we're into a FIFA-mandated hydration break, with both sides getting some tactical pointers from their respective coaches as they top up on fluids on the touchline.

BOOKED: CASEMIRO
Veteran midfielder Casemiro could be in for a difficult night against Japan's pacy, hard-running midfield, and his evening just got trickier after being booked for a cynical foul on the edge of the penalty area.
Japan have their first shooting opportunity of the game, but the ball deflects off the wall and behind for a corner.
