My word, what an outstanding game. Argentina gave it a real go at the end, there. They nearly pulled off the comeback, but this match was all about Mbappe. He was the game-winner, scoring twice for France as they move into the quarter finals of this World Cup. On this basis, they will be contenders.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! France 4 Argentina 3 (93 mins - Sergio Aguero). Hold on... is there one final push from Argentina? Messi finds Aguero with a cross from deep and the Manchester City striker heads home from about 10 yards out. We're going to have a grandstand finish here!

The Argentinean fans are still singing and bouncing in the Kazan Arena. They have been fantastic and they deserved better from their team. One of the most colourful supports at this tournament.

Four minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.

France really turned the screw on this match. They were in trouble at the start of the second half. They trailed, but managed to crank up the quality of their play and emerge from it.

If Argentina are to stand any chance of mounting a fightback here, they need to score in the next minute or so to give them a shot at getting a second goal. It's not looking very likely.

MESSI WAS THROUGH! Just for a moment it looked like Messi was going to make this interesting. He knocked the ball past the French defenders, he was through... but he scuffed his shot!

Messi still hasn't scored a goal in a knockout game of a World Cup. Of course, this defeat can't be pinned on him, but the Barcelona playmaker hasn't been at his best.

Fekir comes on for the final seven minutes of the match. Griezmann will get a rest on the bench.

Will there be one last surge from Argentina? They have been second best in this game, but they have the quality in attack to create chances. Will Messi fight right until the end?

Mbappe will grab the headlines for obvious reasons, but Pogba has been immense for France. The Manchester United man has answered some of his critics here. Very strong.

France are now taking the opportunity to knock the ball around the centre of the pitch. They're quite happy to see out this game now that they have a two-goal cushion.

And France also make a change with Tolisso coming off the bench to replace Matuidi.
