England earn a corner, Joe Hart is up, Rooney takes it... and it goes out for a goal kick. That pretty much sums it up. England, save for a five minute spell after their goal, were utterly miserable and thoroughly deserved their defeat at the hands of Uruguay. Roy Hodgson's men are surely heading out now. Thanks for reading.
Last chance for England, who have the ball...
The first of five minutes of injury time. Gerrard looks for a hollywood ball. It's out of play.
My suggestion that England had nothing to fear from Suarez of course failed to take into account that this England side is, frankly, awful. Not long to go now.
Uruguay try a breakaway but Cavani can't get a run on goal so he takes it into the corner as well. It's not been a great game, but it's certainly been dramatic. England looked utterly finished before their goal, and Uruguay looked doomed afterwards.
Henderson off, Rickie Lambert on. Time for a fairytale moment?
A Gerrard slip does for England. Rooney was coming in for some flak but he'd been positive even without the goal. Surely even he can't escape the criticism from this one. A disastrous performance from England's captain.
SUAAAAREEZZZZZZ!!!!!!! England are staring down the barrel as their bete noire has done it again. It's another horrible moment for Gerrard, who loses it under little pressure and Suarez produces a magnificent finish. England are all but done.
Henderson sends a deep cross in, but Muslera scampers off his line to catch it. This is anyone's now.
Uruguay have calmed down now. They looked certain to concede another in the aftermath of that Rooney goal but they're much more composed now.
Sturridge goes down in the area under Pereira's challenge and wants a penalty, but he doesn't get it. And now he almost scores again, being given an absurd amount of room to turn in the area and hit a tame shot at the keeper. Uruguay are all over the place.
GOAL! Wayne Rooney has scored at a World Cup! It's a pretty simple finish, a good run from Glen Johnson provides the assist and Rooney has an easy tap-in to put England level.
Welbeck is the sacrificed one. Adam Lallana is on. Alright, England, what have you got?
Baines has looked like he might actually be capable of whipping a decent one in, but Sturridge has been particularly dire in this sense.
Baines thwacks in a cross from the left, but Gimenez gets across to deal with it. England not quite out of this year but they need something else. One sub is not enough.
Not here, alas.
Gerrard goes into the book. Fortunately for him, it looks like England will go out in the Group Stage so he probably won't need to worry about it. Elsewhere, Barkley has moved into the centre, so Rooney's farmed out on the right.
Basically, every England player with the exception of Hart has been equally ineffective and rubbish. It will therefore say a lot about who cops most of the criticism afterwards.
England do make a change - it's Ross Barkley on, and Raheem Sterling off.
Uruguay are telling Pereira that he has to go off but he's desperate to stay on. This is bizarre.
