CLASSY DUTCH MOVE TO BRINK OF WORLD CUP SPOT WITH FINNISH ROUT
Netherlands moved to the brink of World Cup qualification with a 4-0 drubbing of an outclassed Finland side in Amsterdam.
Donyell Malen's long-range strike (8'), Virgil van Dijk's header (17'), a Memphis Depay penalty (38') and a blistering Cody Gakpo hit (84') saw Ronald Koeman's men effectively kill off Finland's hopes of a play-off spot from Group G.
A win for Poland in Lithuania on Sunday night will end Finland's faint prospects of second place in the section, with Jacob Friis' Finns having one fixture to fulfil at home against Malta next month.
The Dutch would confirm their spot as group winners with a point against Poland in Warsaw on November 14 due to their huge goal difference, 15 more than Poland, but even an away defeat would leave them requiring only a home win over Lithuania three days later in their final match to secure top spot.
Meanwhile, Poland will move three points ahead of Finland, having played one game less, with a victory over Lithuania and a goal difference of plus nine over the Finns ahead of Sunday's match in Kaunas, before they conclude their campaign with a trip to Malta on November 17.

WE ARE INTO ONE ADDED MINUTE
Referee can blow any time now. It is a job well done this evening from Ronald Koeman's men. The final whistle sounds. A 4-0 victory for Netherlands. Excellent day out for them. On their way to the World Cup finals with this rout.

A FREE-KICK CHANCE FOR DUTCH
Right on the edge of the visiting box. Sizing up the options, but Justin Kluivert drives the finish a yard or two over the bar. It remains 4-0 as Matti Peltola is booked for foul play on Simons.

ALMOST ONE BACK FOR FOR THE VISITORS!
But not quite. Benjamin Källman with a real chance to pull back one, but the finish is weak. Straight into the arms of Verbruggen.

GOAL! (GAKPO) NETHERLANDS 4-0 FINLAND
Stunning hit from outside the box. In off the post, high to the goalkeeper's right from the Simons pass. What a hit. No keeper is stopping that.

ALL HANDS ON DECK FOR FINLAND
Dumfries tries an audacious volley from distance, but plenty of traffic between him and the goal as the effort is blocked. Dutch fans wanting a fourth goal. As you would.

THE PACE OF THE MATCH IS MORE SUITABLE FOR THE FINNS
Dutch happy to keep ball with not so much pace in the final third. Has enabled the Finns to shut up shot somewhat in the second half as the Netherlands pick up a 12th corner.

A CHANGE ON THE WAY FOR THE DUTCH
Nathan Aké replaces Micky van de Ven as Walta thumps a shot well wide from distance for the Finns. Still 3-0.

Dutch have done the heavy lifting in the first half. Intensity of the match has dropped. 11 corners now for the home side.

DUTCH HAVE THE BALL IN THE NET
But that is going to be offside as Wout Weghorst bundles the ball in the net. And I think he accepts that was offside.

DUTCH ALSO MAKING CHANGES TOO
Wout Weghorst replaces Memphis Depay with Jan Paul van Hecke on for Jurriën Timber.

FINLAND BEING PRESSED SO, SO DEEP
Tijjani Reijnders with another crack at the goal but straight at a white shirt as Finland attempt to avoid giving away another one. It remains 3-0 to the Dutch. Changes coming here.

VAN DIJK WINS ANOTHER HEADER IN THE AIR
Such a threat at set-pieces as the ball comes off the side of his head from the Depay corner. And Finland clear the danger. For now.

A DECENT COUNTER BY THE VISITORS
Not seen much of them so far tonight, but Walta getting a look at the home goal. Fires shot at goal, but Verbruggen with an easy stop in the end.
