Albania 0-2 England result - Harry Kane double ensures 100% record for Three Lions in 2026 World Cup qualification

Harry Kane scored two second-half goals as England beat Albania 2-0, to give The Three Lions a perfect record in their 2026 World Cup qualification, with eight wins from eight in Group K.

After a rather uneventful opening 45 minutes, with neither side getting many chances, the game came to life in the second half as both sides had several chances to break the deadlock.

Dean Henderson was forced into some important saves to prevent the hosts from scoring, whilst Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze also had great opportunities to give England the lead.

Kane scored his first in the 74th minute when a corner was flicked on at the near post, and he was in the right position to bundle the ball in from close range.

The Bayern Munich forward doubled England's lead eight minutes later, as Marcus Rashford whipped in a great cross from the left wing which found Kane at the back post, and he jumped highest to head his effort in.

The campaign has been near-perfect for Thomas Tuchel’s side. They finished the qualification with eight wins from eight, 22 goals scored and none conceded.

The clean sheet also meant that they have become the first European side to play at least six qualifiers and win them all without conceding.

The Three Lions finish their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 100% record! After a tense opening hour of the game in Tirana, Harry Kane scored a second-half double to make it 11 consecutive wins for Thomas Tuchel's side.

Close to a hat-trick for Kane! He gets the ball in the box and takes a couple of touches to set up the shot, but his effort on his left foot goes just wide.

Armando Broja looks in a huge amount of pain, and is stretchered off the pitch.

Jude Bellingham is replaced by Morgan Rogers.

The England captain doubles the lead! Rashford whips in a fantastic cross from the left wing which finds Kane at the back post, who nods in from close range.

The England captain has broken the deadlock! A corner is flicked on at the near post by an Albanian defender, and Kane is in the right position to poke in his shot from close range.

After a tense first half, the game has sprung into life in the second half with both sides getting some big chances to break the deadlock.

A loose back by Quansah pass nearly falls perfectly to the Albanian forward, but the Crystal Palace keeper rushes out and makes a great tackle to win the ball.

Saka gets a chance soon after coming on. Bellingham plays a nice pass to him in space on the right side of the box, the winger then tries to curl in an effort on his left foot but his shot is stopped by the keeper.

Thomas Tuchel makes a double change. Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden come on for Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze.

Another chance goes missing for the Three Lions. A free kick is sent into the box, Burns wins the header and lays it off to the Real Madrid man, but he slips as he tries to smash in a shot and it bounces off the ground and it goes inches over the bar.

A big opportunity for England! The ball is played across the box by Bellingham to the Arsenal midfielder at the backpost, whose effort from close range is saved by Strakosha and goes out for a corner. He will feel he should have been done better with that chance.

That should have been the opener! Burn loses the ball and the hosts break forward before a pass is played to Hoxha in plenty of space in the box, but his effort is straight at Henderson who makes a comfortable save.

Albania have been a lot more threatening so far in the second half!
