Ireland win a corner, to the annoyance of Sidelnikov, who wags a finger. O'Dea gets in a header but it is wide.

The ball finds McCarthy 30 yards from goal, but Ostapenko bravely blocks.

Dzholchiyev has a great chance as he gets inside St Ledger after seeming to foul O'Dea in the build-up but Westwood saves with his legs.

McGeady puts in a good free-kick from the left, but Sidelnikov again fields the ball.

Whelan has a speculative shot after a John O'Shea attack down the right is cleared, but the Stoke City midfielder's shot is straight at Sidelnikov.

Another free-kick conceded by Ward, and Shmidtgal's free-kick is well-placed, but the referee's whistle goes for a foul.
