More poor possession play by England. This time it is Bardsley, but Nakajima's poor effort sums up Japan in front of goal tonight.

Demi Stokes loses the ball for England, who are struggling to deal with Japan when they're on the ball. They've been sloppy in the last few minutes.

Sugita breaks through midfield for Japan and feeds Iwabuchi, who tries to take on Bronze. But the England defender stays calm and wins the ball.

Stanway shoots from distance and wins a corner, from which Bright heads tamely on target.

Jill Scott pulls wide and crosses looking for White, but Japan clear again. Lovely interplay by England.

HALF TIME! Ellen White's goal is the difference, but Japan are looking good at the other end.

We're into a minute of stoppage time here.

Yokoyama gets in again, just outside the box, but shoots wide tamely. If she gets just one on target ewith power, it could be dangerous, England need to keep an eye on her.

Both sides playing good stuff and it is open here, but there aren't many chances to speak of. Eight minutes until the break, England lead 1-0.

CHANCE! Walsh picks out Daly, who gets in behind and forces another great save from Yamashita. Duggan strikes wide from the resulting corner.

Meanehile, at the other end England push on through Scott, but her cross is poor and the attack breaks down. It may be a cliche, but the second goal is crucial here!

Emi Nakajima has been lively for Japan so far, pressing well against Keira Walsh. Yokoyama has a strike from distance, but it doesn't trouble Bardsley.

Japan enjoying some possession right now, having just seen a corner cleared. England are still in control but have just lost possession in midfield. They need a second goal.
