Per what Hayes was saying, there has been a law change ahead of the knockout stages. With penalty shootouts a possibility from today, goalkeepers will NOT be cautioned for coming off their line then, but WILL if they do in normal or extra time.

This is an amazing occasion for Nigeria defender Onome Ebi, who starts at the back today. She'll become the most capped player, male or female, of all time.

Just as a reference for how difficult the task is for Nigeria this afternoon, Germany have won the last seven games between the two sides

Giulia Gwinn, Germany's right-back, will be an interesting watch today. She was particularly impressive in the narrow victory over Spain, and really opens the pitch up.

The winner of this game will set up a quarter final meeting with either Sweden or Canada. So far, the suggestion it could be a tight affair with both teams looking strong defensively.

While we wait for kick off, here is an interesting line from Emma Hayes, the Chelsea boss, on goalkeepers in the women's game.

Nigeria's only win so far came on matchday two against South Korea. They won 2-0, but one of their goalscorers that day, Asisat Oshoala, is on the bench from the start.

Sara Dabaritz has scored twice already for Germany and will be a huge threat for Nigeria today. Dzsenifer Marozsan is on the bench and could play a huge part in this one later on. Most interestingly, though, Germany are yet to concede a goal in the tournament.

It isn't a surprise to see Germany come into this game as overwhelming favourites having won all three group games. Nigeria came through a tough group with hosts France and Norway.
