Those campaigns ended in disappointment.
Pep Guardiola finally won the elusive UEFA Champions League for Manchester City, beating Inter Milan in Istanbul to seal the aforementioned treble.
Meanwhile, Sevilla beat Roma in Budapest to win another UEFA Europa League crown - the seventh time they've won Europe's secondary competition; and West Ham overcame Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa Conference League final in the Czech capital, Prague to lift a first trophy in 43 years. Paris-Saint Germain sealed a ninth league title in 11 years in Ligue 1, but only by a single point from Lens. Plus Wrexham won the Vanarama National League to seal promotion to League Two.
