14'
SIDE-NETTING
Rolfo robs Bronze on the left, and charges through into the left of the area. It's a tight angle but she shoots anyway, and booms the ball into the side-netting. England look very unsteady at the back.
12'
ENGLAND SETTLE (SLIGHT RETURN)
That was a worrying stanza for England, but they've settled again now. Sweden look incredibly dangerous on the break so far though.
9'
OFF THE BAR!
Now Blackstenius hits the bar! The corner comes in and Sweden crowd Earps in the six yard box, and Blackstenius gets to it first and crashes a header off the bar.
8'
BIG CHANCE!
Sweden win the ball in the centre circle, and with one quick ball Blackstenius is through on goal. She ovveruns it slightly and only hits a bobbling shot, which Earps palms away for a corner.
7'
FEROCIOUS PACE
It's started at a rate of knots, this. Hemp gets a cross in from the left, which Lindahl gathers despite pressure from Mead.
5'
GLIMMER OF A CHANCE
Kirby lofts a cross to the back post. Mead rises, but she's under it slightly and can only glance a header a yard wide of the far post. Lindahl had that covered I think.
4'
ENGLAND SETTLE
That sent a tremor through Sheffield! England quickly regain composure though, and they've had the ball for most of the last three minutes.
1st Half
1'
GOOD SAVE!
We're off and oh my stars, Jakobbson is clean through in the left of the area in under 20 seconds! She shoots across Earps, who makes a fine save with her foot to prevent a sensational opening goal!

THERE'S NO ROOM FOR RACISM
Both sets of players take the knee before we get going.

ANTHEMICS DONE
Eyes down then. We might go 90, we might go 120, or we might end up settling this on penalties just shy of 11pm. Your referee for tonight's action is Esther Staubli.

HERE THEY COME
The players stride out onto the pitch at Bramall Lane. This place is absolutely bouncing.
19:53
WIDEN THE DEBATE
Some think yes, some think no, or at least not yet.

BETH
What a tournament it's been so far for Beth Mead, out on her own in the race for the Golden Boot largely assisted by that performance for the ages against Norway. Can you imagine how proud her family are? No need to:

WHO ARE YOU BACKING?
England, with the home advantage and imposing run of form, are favourites here. Sweden however have history on their side though, and just 12 months ago only lost the Olympic final on penalties.

ENGLAND VERSUS THE COST OF LIVING CRISIS
Let’s all calm down a little, shall we? This game is a beautiful distraction, the most of important of all the least important things, a serotonin hit for people with troubles elsewhere in their lives. That’s the only point Fran Kirby was making when she spoke at yesterday’s press conference; this team can bring a bit of joy to a country stumbling through a turbulent time. If a gaggle of misanthropes on Twitter can't get on board with that, football probably isn't for them.

THE LATE, LATE SHOW
Sweden left it late too; their quarter-final with Belgium was settled deep in injury time by Linda Sembrant.

PREVIOUSLY ON EURO 2022
It was some show of moxie by England to turn around their quarter-final last Wednesday. Despite trailing to a Spanish team that had outplayed them for chunks of the match, Ella Toone snaffled a later equaliser to send the game into extra time before Georgia Stanway cracked in a stunning goal to win it.

HEADS UP
Sweden aren't ranked second in the world for nothing. Their record against England reads won 15, drawn 8, lost 3. England have only triumphed over them once in seven attempts in the Euros. Will home advantage help England turn the tide of history?
