MATCH REPORT - BETH MEAD NETS THREE POINTS FOR ENGLAND IN EURO 2022 OPENER
Thanks for joining us tonight for England's Euro 2022 campaign opener, a slightly frustrating affair, but three points, nonetheless!
    FT
The whistle blows and it's 1-0 to England. It might not have been the prettiest of matches, and might not have been the most convincing win, but they'll take it. England bag a crucial three points on their opening match of the tournament.
    90'
TWO MINUTES OF ADDED TIME TO PLAY
The ref announces two minutes of added time to play and Austria will try to make the most of it, but the ref stops play as Rachel Daly is brought down.
    87'
    LAST CHANCE FOR AUSTRIA?
England have had five attempts on target to Austria's two - Mary Earps is called upon now, and she delivers with a wonderful save.
    83'
    HAVE ENGLAND DONE ENOUGH?
We’re into the final 10 minutes now, and I would have liked to see more distance between England and Austria in the score line. Other teams watching this may feel less of a threat from the host nation after the opening match.
If you’re wondering what’s happening in the men’s game, reports suggest Raheem Sterling could be set for a move to Chelsea, this summer.

KELLY HOPES TO SHAKE THINGS UP
A cracking run by Kelly, there, clearly hungry to shake things up, but the shot was perhaps a bit too ambitious and she fires wide of the net.
    72'
RUSSO MAKES HER MOVE TOO SOON
A free kick for England now, just outside the area. Hemp crosses low into the box and Russo latches on, six yards out. A scramble ensues and the ball is cleared.
    70'
    ANOTHER WASTED OPPORTUNITY
Another moment that could have been for the Lionesses as Lauren Hemp crosses the ball in front of the goal. There’s too much on it and it’s too wide to make anything of it.
    67'
MANCHESTER TRIO HOPE TO MAKE THEIR MARK
The three newcomers all play in Manchester and will no doubt be keen to make their mark on this match, especially Chloe Kelly, a late addition to this England squad.
    63'
    TRIPLE SUBSTITUTION FOR ENGLAND
Sarina Wiegman is looking to bring more energy to the England team now, with a triple substitution. She brings on Kirby is replaced by Ella Toone, Mead is replaced by Chloe Kelly and White omes off for Alessia Russo.
    58'
    SUBSTITUTION FOR AUSTRIA
Hicklesberger-Fuller comes on for Naschenweng and England look like they will follow suit.
    55'
    AUSTRIA TAKE AIM
Naschenweng takes aim at the goal now as the match reaches a bit of a lull. It's a mile wide and the score remains 1-0 to England.
    50'
    AUSTRIA HAVE AN EARLY CHANCE
Austria are straight in there with an attack, which is shut down again by Millie Bright. England are on the counter-attack, but it's a bit messy and that too is put to bed.
    46'
SECOND HALF GETS UNDERWAY AT OLD TRAFFORD
We start the second half with England 1-0 up against Austria. England looked the stronger side towards the end of the first half, but the quality in the final third hasn't quite been there, still we've another 45 minutes to go for that 4-0 scoreline the fans are hoping for!

A GREAT ATMOSPHERE AT OLD TRAFFORD
Our woman on the ground at Old Trafford, Yara El-Shaboury has been soaking up the atmosphere.
An Amazing number of fans have shown up to Manchester today. Both official fan parks completely packed with fans and supporters to the point where stewards blocked out entrances to them about half an hour before kick-off. Fans outside of Old Trafford were incredibly optimistic about England’s chances today and throughout the tournament. Lots of shouts for a 3-0 or a 4-0 win against Austria.

ENGLAND 1-0 UP AT HALF TIME
A slightly wasteful first half by England, but the Lionesses are a goal up, and Austria must have been happy to hear the whistle then, as England put them under pressure again.
    45'+1
ONE MINUTE OF ADDED TIME TO PLAY
And Fran Kirby tries her luck in the closing moments of the first half. That should have been a goal - a great save by Zinsberger.
    43'
    AUSTRIA PUT ENGLAND UNDER PRESSURE
We can't rule Austria out just yet. There's a chance for them now in front of the goal, but Millie Bright puts paid to that.
