Of course, there's still a lot of work for Scotland to do in this match if they are to make the next round. They must win by two goals and hope that England beat Portugal (currently 1-1).

Signuel made a change to her Scotland team at the break, with Clelland coming on for the Dark Blues.

HALF TIME: Scotland 1-0 Spain. Well, what a remarkable opening 45 minutes of this match. Spain have undoubtedly been the better side on the whole, but Scotland have the lead.

Brow takes one for the team and enters the book with a yellow card that she probably deserved.

Scotland have been desperately unlucky throughout this tournament, but fortune has been on their side in this first half. Keep in mind, they need to win this game by two clear goals.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Scotland 1 (42 mins - Caroline Weir) Spain 0. Scotland have found the opener they so badly needed! They have been second best, but they have the lead, with Weir squeezing home a finish after a misjudgment from the goalkeeper Panos.

JUST WIDE OF THE POST! That wasn't far at all. Torrejon steps up to the mark 20 yards out, but the ball flashes just past the post. Fay wasn't getting anywhere near that.

FAY HANDBALL! Have Scotland just received another dose of luck? Fay handled the ball outside the box, but the Scotland goalkeeper is only shown a yellow card. That should have been a red.

SPAIN HIT THE POST! Fay makes another great save to keep the scoreline level. The header was directed towards the far post by Paredes, but Fay tips the ball on to the woodwork.

MASSIVE FAY SAVE! That's the best chance of the match so far. A strong header was guided towards goal by a Spanish player, but Fay was on hand to make a close range save. I think it was Hermoso with the header.

NOT THE MOST CONVINCING! A looped cross was played into the Scotland penalty area, with Fay getting caught under the ball. But the danger was cleared at the near post.

Panos comes off her line to perform her Superman routine? The cross into the Spanish penalty area was a dangerous one, but the goalkeeper dealt with it, albeit in emphatic style.

Scotland are enjoying a positive spell at the moment. For the first time in the match, they have the ball in the attacking areas, and they are making it stick. Can they make this pressure count?

CLOSE CALL! Cuthbert thinks that she's been played clean in on goal, but the flag is up on the far side for offside. Replays show that he was a yard or so beyond the last woman of defence.

SPANISH PENALTY CLAIM! Should that have been a spot kick to Spain? Brown went in with a slide challenge inside the box, but the referee adjudges that she won the ball. Spain don't agree.

That was some lovely play from Losada. There was a cheeky nutmeg from the Spanish midfielder on the edge of the box, but the eventual shot cleared the bar. No danger for Fay.

This is the problem for Scotland. They are defending well and are making things difficult for Spain, but they simply can't get hold of the ball in the attacking areas of the pitch.

SAMPEDRO OVER THE BAR! Arthur makes a mistake at left back, giving the ball up far too cheaply. But when the pass is played to Sampedro she can only scoop her shot well over.

Spain are making really good use of the clipped pass over the top. This time, it's Losada who plays the ball for Hermoso, but the offside flag is up and the chance is gone for the Spanish.
