RONALDO COMPLETES THRILLING PORTUGAL COMEBACK

Portugal will play Spain or France in Sunday’s Nations League final after Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal completed a brilliant comeback against Germany in Munich.
Ronaldo’s 68th-minute winner, his 137th goal in international football, gave Portugal a victory they fully deserved after a dominant second-half performance.
Germany had the better chances in a largely even first half, with Diogo Costa making a good save from the debutant Nick Woltemade and an even better one to deny Leon Goretzka.
The match seemed to be going Germany’s way when Florian Wirtz gave them the lead just after half-time with a clever header. Portugal were unhappy, thinking Ruben Dias was fouled in the build-up, but once they regained focus they were too strong for the hosts.
The substitute Francesco Conceicao - whose father Sergio scored a famous hat-trick against Germany at Euro 2000 - equalised in the 62nd minute with an outstanding solo goal. Five minutes later the brilliant left-back Nuno Mendes played a one-two with Bruno Fernandes and put the ball on a plate for Ronaldo.
Karim Adeyemi hit the outside of the post late on for Germany, but that aside Portugal controlled the last 20 minutes and could easily have scored more.  They will return to Munich on Sunday with the chance to win the Nations League for the second time – and with Ronaldo looking for even more goals.

FULL TIME: GERMANY 1-2 PORTUGAL
The fourth Nations League final will be between two of the previous winners. Portugal, who won the inaugural tournament in 2019, will meet either France (2021) or Spain (2023) in Munich on Sunday after a marvellous comeback in the second half.
The match was too close to call until Florian Wirtz headed Germany in head, but from that moment on Portugal were magnificent. The substitute Francisco Conceicao equalised with a beautiful solo goal before Cristiano Ronaldo tapped in the winner, his 137th goal in international football. He will want at least one more on Sunday.

PORTUGAL SUBSTITUTION

GREAT DOUBLE SAVE BY TER STEGEN
Portugal should be out of sight. Jota's poked shot is well stopped by Ter Stegen, who springs to his feet to make a dramatic save from Conceicao's follow up.

TIME RUNNING OUT FOR HOSTS
Germany are two minutes away from losing their second knockout game at home in as many years. This won't sting as much as the Euro 2024 quarter-final defeat to Spain, but it would still be a big blow to Julian Nagelsmann and his team.

AGGRO IN MUNICH
Bernardo Silva goes down after an off-the-ball incident with Wirtz. He is booked but by then the players on both sides have charged over to get start pushing and shoving each other. Fullkrug and Fernandes were especially animated. Fullkrug is booked, as is... Ruben Dias, who seems bemused by the whole thing.

ADEYEMI HITS THE POST!
Conceicao collects a long ball forward, zips infield and smashes a curler just wide of the far post. At the other end, barely 15 seconds later, Adeyemi moves away from Dias and batters a shot from the angle that hits the outside of the post.

Fernandes slips Tah, who trips himk and is booked. Fernandes has been majestic in the second half.

GREAT DEFENDING BY KIMMICH
Conceicao zips infield from the right, plays a one-two with Fernandes and rolled an inviting low ball across the six-yard box. Ronaldo is on the scene but Kimmich reads the play and makes an absolutely vital clearance.

GERMANY UNDER THE COSH
At the moment Portugal look the likelier scorers, even though it's Germany who are behind. Their response to Florian Wirtz's opening goal has been quite outstanding. The left-back Nuno Mendes, yet again, has been outstanding.

GOAL! GERMANY 1-2 PORTUGAL (RONALDO)
The oldest finisher in town has put Portugal ahead! It's Cristiano Ronaldo's 137th goal for Portugal. 137! Mendes played a one-two with Fernandes, moves through on goal and slid the ball across to give Ronaldo an open goal.
Hold on, there's a VAR check for offside. It's extremely tight but the goal stands and Portugal are in front!

PORTUGAL PRESSING FOR WINNER
A cutback from the left looks set to reach Ronaldo, but Anton does very well to ensure he can't get a clean shot at goal. Vitinha does a few seconds later but it's desperately blocked. This is anyone's game.

GOAL! Germany 1-1 Portugal (Conceicao) A wonderful equalizer from the substitute Francisco Conceicao! His father Sergio scored a hat-trick against Germany at Euro 2000 and now he has scored a beauty. He beat Gosens smartly on the right wing, kept moving inside until he was 25 yards from goal and shaped a beautiful curling shot into the far corner. Ter Stegen had no chance.

CHANCE FOR RONALDO
Fernandes's corner is headed over at the near post by Cristiano Ronaldo. It wasn't an easy chance - he stayed in the air for an age but couldn't divert the ball goalwards.

JUST WIDE FROM FERNANDES!
Bruno Fernandes moves into the area, cuts onto his right foot and whips a shot that takes a nick off Koch's toe and goes just wide of the far post. The referee gives a goalkick but that definitely took a touch. Ruben Neves is booked for dissent.
