Napoli close in on Hojlund

Rudy Galetti is reporting that Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund is on the verge of completing a loan move to Serie A champions Napoli.
Hojlund arrived at Old Trafford in 2023 for a reported £72 million from Atalanta, but he has struggled to adapt to life in England over the last two seasons.
The Danish striker registered just four goals and one assist in 32 Premier League appearances last term, and now looks set for a return to Italy.
If the loan goes ahead, Hojlund will link up with former United stars Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku in Naples.
"Manchester United have given the green light for Rasmus Hojlund to join Napoli on loan with a conditional obligation to buy," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
"Talks now focus on the exact fee for the paid loan, but a done deal looks like only a matter of time."

Roma and Milan interested in swap deal

Roma and AC Milan are discussing the possibility of a swap deal involving strikers Santiago Gimenez and Artem Dovbyk, according to Sky Italia.
Gimenez, who currently plays for Milan, scored five goals and registered two assists in 14 appearances during the 2024/2025 season.
Dovbyk also enjoyed an impressive campaign last time out, producing 12 goals and three assists in 32 appearances for Roma.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio says that Gimenez’s desire to stay in Milan could prevent the swap from happening, though.
"Roma and Milan are discussing a Dovbyk-Gimenez swap deal: the feasibility of the deal remains to be seen," read the article.
"The Rossoneri have closed the deal for the arrival of [Christopher] Nkunku, but continue to move in attack.
"Now it remains to be seen whether Roma, as well as the players, will give the OK.
"The operation, however, is not simple, in fact Gimenez wants to stay at Milan."

Dortmund put finishing touches on Silva signing

Florian Plettenberg believes that Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Fabio Silva from Wolverhampton Wanderers for around €25 million (£22m).
Like Hojlund, Silva arrived in England with a big price tag and reputation, but he has struggled to hit the ground running with Wolves, and now looks set to leave the Premier League.
He arrived at Molineux from Porto in 2020, but has only gone on to score five goals and produce six assists in 72 appearances for the club.
Plettenberg says that Silva has signed a five-year contract with the German giants.
"Fabio Silva to Borussia Dortmund – DONE DEAL!" he posted on X.
"As he finally said yes to #BVB. A full agreement with Wolverhampton was already in place. Contract until 2030. Transfer fee: €25-26m in total (22,5+4).
"Dortmund wanted him since June, as excl. revealed.
"Now it’s done – 23 y/o striker #Silva will undergo his medical in the next 24 hours. Travelling today."

Milan want Nkunku

AC Milan are reportedly interested in completing a deal to sign Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku for between €40 and €45m.
The France international was part of the Blues squad who stormed to victory in the UEFA Conference League last season.
However, he has struggled to break into Chelsea’s star-studded starting line-up since arriving from RB Leipzig.
L'Equipe says that Nkunku has already agreed terms with the Italian club.
"Chelsea and Milan are expected to finalise a deal for the transfer of French international Christopher Nkunku this Thursday," read the article.
"Coveted by Bayern Munich, with whom he had a contractual agreement, Christopher Nkunku (27) could bounce back at AC Milan.
"The Italian club and Chelsea are close to finding common ground for a transfer between €40 and €45 million, including bonuses.
"The former PSG striker, under contract with Chelsea until 2029, has already agreed terms with AC Milan."
