Napoli want Premier League duo
Napoli are keen on two outgoing Premier League players who will soon be looking for new clubs.
The Serie A champions are linked with Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho.
The Telegraph says: "Napoli are targeting Alejandro Garnacho in addition to Kevin De Bruyne as the newly crowned Italian champions look to build on their extraordinary title success.
"De Bruyne is scheduled for talks with the Napoli hierarchy next week as he prepares to leave Manchester City and Antonio Conte’s side are also expected to renew their interest in Garnacho.
"Napoli bid for Garnacho in January after selling Georgia forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain for £63 million but were rebuffed by United.
"Garnacho was told by United manager Ruben Amorim on Saturday to find a new club and Napoli are among his potential suitors.
"United are thought to want around £60 million for the Argentina forward, whom Chelsea also tried and failed to sign in January."
Real Madrid move may benefit United
Manchester United stand to make around £20 million as Real Madrid are poised to bid £42 million for Benfica defender Alvaro Carreras.
The Mirror reports that United sold Carreras to the Portuguese side with a sell-on clause of up to 50%.
The paper writes: "Manchester United could profit from Alvaro Carreras' potential move to Real Madrid this summer in a huge boost to Sir Jim Ratcliffe's hopes of bolstering the club's transfer budget.
"Carreras joined The Red Devils from Madrid in 2020 and while he impressed for the youth teams, he never made a senior appearance for the club.
"The left-back was loaned out for three seasons before eventually joining Benfica last summer and becoming a standout player in the squad as they came second in the Portuguese top division and won the Portuguese Cup.
"No bid has yet been made by Madrid for Carreras but it's likely Los Blancos would have to pay the player's £42 million release clause if they are serious about snapping him up.
"When United sold Carreras to Benfica for about £5m last year, they are believed to have negotiated a sell-on clause of around 40-50%."
City consider Nunes deal with Gibbs-White
Nottingham Forest could be interested in a part-exchange deal which would see them secure Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes.
Going the other way would be Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, with some cash also paid by City.
The Sun states: "Matheus Nunes could be off to Nottingham Forest - sparking an all-change summer at the Etihad.
"And that could grease the wheels for Manchester City’s hopes of moving Morgan Gibbs-White, 25, in the opposite direction.
"Nunes, 26, is on the wish list for Forest chief Nuno Espirito Santo, who is a big fan of the £53 million Portuguese midfielder.
"City sources claim they would be prepared to cut their losses and let Nunes go for around £35m.
"A deal for England midfielder Gibbs-White would cost almost double that and Nunes could prove a useful bargaining chip."
Rangers line up managerial candidates
Scottish giants Rangers are hoping to move forward with their pursuit of a replacement for Barry Ferguson.
Former manager Steven Gerrard is one option, as are Davide Ancelotti, Russell Martin and Brian Priske.
The Record claims: "Gers are set to step up the appointment process this week as they seek to whittle down the shortlist of contenders.
"Early talks have already taken place with Davide Ancelotti and Russell Martin, while it’s emerged over the weekend that former Feyenoord boss Brian Priske has also been contacted by The Light Blues as the search intensifies.
"Steven Gerrard also continues to be linked with a return to the club he led to Premiership gold three years ago. The Liverpool legend is back in the UK after flying in to take part in his old club’s Premier League title party at Anfield."
