Napoli star Kevin De Bruyne could face lengthy spell on sidelines with hamstring injury suffered in Inter win - 'Maybe someone has cursed us'

Napoli have confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne has suffered a hamstring injury. He appeared to have picked up the injury during their victory over Serie A rivals Inter. The former Manchester City star scored during the 3-1 triumph. However, he was substituted for Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa shortly after. The Champions League winner could reportedly miss the rest of the calendar year.

Napoli have revealed that former Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne suffered a hamstring injury during their 3-1 win over Inter on Saturday.
Antonio Conte’s side are top of the Serie A table after goals from De Bruyne, Scott McTominay and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa helped them secure all three points at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
The UEFA Champions League winner gave his side the lead in 33rd minute of the clash with Inter via the penalty spot, but appeared to injure himself striking the ball and was replaced by Mathias Olivera.
Napoli have said that De Bruyne has suffered a high-grade lesion to the biceps femoris muscle.
"After sustaining an injury in the match against Inter on Saturday, Kevin De Bruyne underwent diagnostic tests at Pineta Grande Hospital, which revealed a high-grade lesion to the biceps femoris muscle in his right thigh," read a club statement.
"The Napoli player has already begun the rehabilitation process."
Napoli currently have 18 points after eight fixtures. They are level on points with second-place side Roma, but are ahead of them on goal difference.

Napoli did not clarify how long De Bruyne would be out for, but reports suggest he could miss the rest of the calendar year.
Napoli have failed to replicate their Serie A form in the UEFA Champions League, where the Italian side are currently 23rd in the league phase table.
Napoli boss Conte revealed that the Belgian superstar had been added to the club’s growing list of injury concerns following their victory over Inter.

"I live the game with my players, for better or for worse," Conte said after the game.
"We won despite the difficulties, we have important players absent and now De Bruyne has also been injured. Let’s say it’s not a very lucky year, maybe someone has cursed us."
