Tuesday’s Paper Round leads on Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, with Manchester United among the clubs interested in the ex-Arsenal shot-stopper. Manchester United are one of several clubs keeping a close eye on Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale, The Sun reports. Ruben Amorim dropped Andre Onana for Sunday’s clash with Newcastle, but his replacement, Altay Bayindir, struggled in the 4-1 defeat at St James’ Park.
The result has handed Amorim a major selection dilemma ahead of Thursday’s crucial showdown with Lyon, live on TNT Sports and discovery+, and looking further ahead finding a new goalkeeper is becoming a priority for Amorim, with Ramsdale, who is also attracting interest from West Ham, emerging as a serious option.
The Sun adds: “The former England, Arsenal, and Sheffield United shot-stopper is set to leave relegated Southampton at the end of the season.
“Despite being part of a horror season for the Saints, Ramsdale has emerged with his reputation intact and is still seen as one of the best goalkeepers in the country.
“United have been watching his recent games, and think his Premier League experience could make him a strong option to help resolve their issues in leaking goals.
“But United face a fight with West Ham. Graham Potter is believed to have identified Ramsdale as a key target in his summer rebuilding job at the London Stadium.”

Liverpool and Everton eye Sunderland wonderkid

Everton are ready to go head-to-head with Liverpool in the race to sign Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg, whose future could be thrown into doubt if the Black Cats fall short in their push for promotion, The i Paper reports.
The 17-year-old is considered one of the most exciting young English players, with scouts from numerous Premier League clubs keeping a close watch.
The i Paper adds: “West Ham, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are among the other top-flight clubs to run regular checks, while fierce rivals Newcastle United also hold a long-standing interest in Rigg.
“Liverpool have also sent scouts to watch the teenager, who has played nearly 40 times this term.
“But the emergence of Everton is intriguing, given their added financial muscle this summer. Everton are looking to strengthen – in the words of one insider – “in every single department” over the close season.”

Three options to replace Postecoglou

Fulham could face a battle to hold onto Marco Silva with Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner and Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola also in the frame if Tottenham sack Ange Postecoglou, the Daily Mirror reports.
There is a growing belief Postecoglou could be dismissed even if Spurs win the Europa League, leaving the club’s hierarchy weighing up their options.
The Mirror adds: “Postecoglou admitted himself last week there was a 'general sentiment' that he could be axed this summer no matter what.
“Tottenham crashed to a 17th Premier League defeat of the season at Wolves on Sunday which is unthinkable for a club with ambitions of being in the Champions League.
“Spurs have been supportive and stuck with Postecoglou through a difficult season which has seen the squad ravaged by injuries.”
