Chelsea keen on Sancho

The Sun reports that Chelsea hope to land Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho on a loan deal.
The transfer would then become permanent for the winger at the end of the season.
The paper writes: “Chelsea could have an exciting new XI if they complete a stunning move for Jadon Sancho.
“And the deal would become permanent for a tasty fee in the summer of 2025.
“Sancho is looking to rebuild his reputation after struggling to impress at Manchester United.
“But he could go straight into the starting XI should he move to Stamford Bridge.”

United invite Napoli offer for McTominay

The Mirror believes that Manchester United want Napoli to make a bid for midfielder Scott McTominay.
The Serie A side would prefer a loan move, while United are keen to raise at least £25 million.
The paper explains: “Manchester United have told Napoli to make them an offer they cannot refuse for Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay.
“Napoli are in talks with United and boss Antonio Conte wants McTominay to boost his midfield options. The Serie A side would prefer a loan move for McTominay, even though United feel he is worth at least £25 million.
“McTominay, 27, has just 11 months left on his contract, although United have the option to extend it until 2026.
”United rejected a £20m offer from Fulham for McTominay and they are adamant they will not let him leave unless the deal is right for them.”

Newcastle make new Guehi bid

The Daily Mail reports that Newcastle United’s new bid for Marc Guehi is likely to fail.
The bid was worth £60 million, with more in add-ons, but Crystal Palace want more than that sum guaranteed.
The paper writes: “Crystal Palace are set to reject an initial £60 million offer from Newcastle for Marc Guehi.
“Mail Sport first revealed the news that the Magpies had submitted their fourth offer for the England international on Friday morning.
“But sources close to the deal are indicating that the package is still not suitable for Palace.
“It is understood the latest offer comprises of a guaranteed £60 million plus a further £5 million in add-ons.
“Palace want a minimum £65 million for Guehi and it appears chairman Steve Parish is demanding that amount in guaranteed money, excluding additional bonuses, meaning Newcastle face paying closer to £70 million to complete the transfer.”

Ugarte sits out PSG match

The Evening Standard suggests that Manuel Ugarte’s absence from Paris Saint-Germain’s squad could help Manchester United sign the player.
United are unwilling to pay £51 million for the Uruguayan international, but his absence from this weekend’s matchday squad may suggest the French team would still be open to negotiating.
The paper states: “Manchester United transfer target Manuel Ugarte has been omitted from the Paris Saint-Germain squad for their Ligue 1 opener.
“PSG have named a 20-man travelling squad [to play Le Havre], one that does not include Ugarte, who continues to be heavily linked with a potential move to Manchester United before the August 30 transfer deadline.
“United are believed to have been in talks over the Uruguayan international midfielder for some time, but have so far refused to meet PSG’s £51million asking price for a player they only signed from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon for a similar fee last summer.”
