BARCA AIM FOR SANCHO SWOOP

The Sun reports that Barcelona hope to take Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho on loan before the transfer window closes.
The United wideman did not feature in the matchday squad for United against Fulham, suggesting he may find minutes hard to come by.
The paper reports: “Jadon Sancho could be heading to Barcelona in a bid to re-track his career.
“The 24-year-old hasn't featured in a league game for Manchester United since he was frozen out by Erik ten Hag in September last year.
“Ten Hag has since welcomed the winger back into the side for pre-season, but Sancho was then left out of the matchday squad for The Red Devils' Premier League opener against Fulham last week.
“While the use of young talents like Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho is a sign that Sancho's game time would be limited if he was to stay at Old Trafford.
“Barcelona are hoping they can convince United to allow Sancho to join them on loan for the campaign.”

VILLA CONSIDER STERLING MOVE

The Mirror believes that Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has been offered to Premier League side Aston Villa.
With Villa preparing for a season in the UEFA Champions League, the club hierarchy could consider an offer for the former Manchester City man.
The paper writes: “Raheem Sterling has been offered to Aston Villa as Chelsea seek to cut their losses on a bloated squad.
“Whether boss Unai Emery presses ahead with the deal is dependent on one thing: he won’t move unless he has a plan in place for the player. He needs to know in his own mind where the 29-year-old will fit into the picture before he’s over the threshold at Villa Park.
“News of the forward’s availability seeped out earlier this week as Villa fielded a call asking if they would be interested. But Emery, along with his trusted sidekicks - president of football operations Monchi and director of football operations Damian Vidagany - will not move without working out where Sterling can fit into Villa’s squad.”

TRIPPIER HOPES TO QUIT NEWCASTLE

Everton could be the side to offer Kieran Trippier a way out of Newcastle United.
The Athletic says that the right-sided defender wants to move away, and Sean Dyche could add him to his squad.
The website claims: “Trippier was the first recruit by the new ownership on Tyneside in January 2022 and has played a central role in the club’s rise.
“But the 33-year-old was an unused substitute in Saturday’s opening-weekend victory over Southampton after Eddie Howe decided to select Tino Livramento at right-back.
“Everton intend to strengthen in Trippier’s favoured position and have held initial conversations with Newcastle to express interest in bringing him to Merseyside on loan.”

NEWCASTLE HOPE TO LAND GUEHI

Newcastle United have not given up hope of signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to the Daily Mail.
More than ÂŁ60 million will be needed if Eddie Howe wants to bring the England international to the North East.
The paper states: “Newcastle remain confident of signing Eddie Howe’s top summer target Marc Guehi - but that would almost certainly mean no marquee right-winger arriving at St James’ Park.
“Sources have told Inside Newcastle there is unlikely to be money for significant incomings beyond Guehi, unless there are outgoings. At present, there is no movement on that front, and that would leave The Magpies exploring the loan market. As it stands, Chelsea’s Noni Madueke is not being pursued, despite reports.
"Howe entered the close-season hopeful of signing both a centre-back and right-winger. Indeed, Crystal Palace wide man Michael Olise was at the top of the list before his move to Bayern Munich.
“But with Guehi now the priority and a deal north of £60m edging closer for the Palace defender, the chances of serious money being put down for a right-winger are extremely slim. Miguel Almiron has seen a move to MLS collapse, and the Paraguayan will stay at the club if Newcastle are unable to sign a replacement.”
