Arsenal and Chelsea in four-way battle with Barcelona and Bayern Munich for Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens - Paper Round

Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all keen on Borussia Dortmund’s young star, Jamie Gittens, while Casemiro may eschew a move to Saudi Arabia as he nails down a place at Manchester United. Elsewhere, a host of English sides are chasing Mjallby forward Abdoulie Manneh, and Chloe Kelly has options for next season as she approaches the end of her Arsenal loan spell.

Gittens release clause revealed

Jamie Gittens has a release clause of €60 million (£50.9m) if Borussia Dortmund finish in the UEFA Champions League places this summer.
With Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich tracking the player, there is focus on his asking price.
The Athletic writes: "Jamie Gittens’ future is not likely to be resolved as soon as the transfer window officially reopens in early June.
"While Borussia Dortmund have accepted that the 20-year-old English forward is likely to leave this summer, his valuation depends on where they finish after the final two games of their season.
"Gittens has a release clause in his contract, which runs until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but its valuation will be determined by which European competition Dortmund qualify to play in next season.
"Should they make it into the Champions League - they’re currently fifth, a point off fourth, and the top four finishers in Germany’s Bundesliga go into the recently revamped 36-team league phase of UEFA’s top-tier club tournament - then Gittens will be available for a fee of €60 million (£50.9m/$67.6m).

That figure will be reduced if Dortmund participate in the Europa League [by finishing fifth], third-tier Conference League [sixth] or miss out on Europe completely.
"In that worst-case scenario, Gittens’ release clause would be well below €50 million, which would not be ideal for Dortmund. While a summer rebuild is planned and several players are expected to leave, Gittens is currently their most valuable asset.
"There are four interested parties: Chelsea, where he spent time in the academy before the age of 10, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Barcelona."

Casemiro may remain at United

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro had been expected to leave Manchester United in the summer, but The Sun believes the player could now remain at Old Trafford.
A recent upturn in form means that boss Ruben Amorim sees a way for the experienced former Real Madrid man to stay.
The paper states: "Casemiro could be set to see out his career at Manchester United after an incredible U-turn by Ruben Amorim.
"The former Real Madrid star looked certain to leave Old Trafford over the summer after an alarming dip in form.
"But the midfielder has been revitalised in recent weeks and has starred for The Red Devils in their European adventure.
"United sources say Amorim has been working closely with the player at Carrington, and now thinks he has a big role to play in the rebuilding of the club.
"Amorim believes the player’s experience and versatility could be a key asset as he looks to bring back success at Old Trafford."

Premier League sides chase Manneh

Abdoulie Manneh has impressed in his short time at Swedish side Mjallby, having scored seven times in 12 games.
Brighton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bournemouth, Burnley and Portsmouth are all credited with an interest by the Mirror.
The paper explains: "Brighton, Wolves and Bournemouth are among several Premier League clubs monitoring 20-year-old Gambian hotshot Abdoulie Manneh. The lively young forward only moved to Europe in 2024 when he joined Swedish outfit Mjallby but having struck seven times in 12 matches this season - he is now on the radar of several English sides.
"Burnley and Championship side Portsmouth are also in contention for his signature.
"Additionally, Manneh can operate as a No. 10 or from the flank and he is valued at around ÂŁ4.25 million, though he could yet be available for south of that figure.
"The highly rated prospect is represented by the same agent as Brighton ace Yankuba Minteh and his representatives believe he also has what it takes to play within Europe's top-five leagues."

Kelly poised for fresh start

Chloe Kelly could return to Manchester City despite her contract ending this summer, but she has a host of other options.
After a loan spell with Arsenal, she might be tempted to stay in North London, but Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain could also be interested.
The Telegraph reports: "It remains to be seen what the future holds for Kelly. She will become a free agent when her contract with City expires in June and she will not be short of options. Arsenal may look to sign Kelly permanently following her successful loan spell, but it is understood City have not ruled out trying to bring the forward back to Manchester. Or she could move elsewhere.
"Kelly said in her statement in January that she had accepted her future was no longer with City but Telegraph Sport understands she would have been happy to remain had [Gareth] Taylor not been in charge.
"Taylor was sacked by City in March, which could open the door for Kelly to return. Manchester United, who fought hard to sign Kelly in January, will also have an eye on the situation, as will clubs abroad, with Paris St-Germain having previously shown an interest."
