SELS CLAIMS BRAGGING RIGHTS AS FOREST WIN ON PENALTIES
A painful first half saw neither side manage to make an impact, though Forest made a lively start to proceedings.
Ipswich were the ones to break the stalemate early in the second half, when George Hirst tapped the ball in behind Matz Sels following a corner.
A more urgent second half followed, with Ryan Yates levelling from Anthony Elanga’s assist in the 68th minute.
Both sides looked as if they had the potential to win it at times, with Forest pressing harder at the end of the first 90 minutes, but neither could break the stalemate and the game went to extra time.
A frenzied 30 minutes of extra time ensued and again, both sides had periods in which they looked threatening, Murillo, in particular, looked good for Forest.
However, neither side was able to break the deadlock during and the match was to be decided by penalties.
Sels was the hero of the hour after Forest scored all five of their penalties and it fell on Jack Taylor to draw level. Sels found the right corner of the box to deny him the opportunity and put Forest through to the quarter-finals.

MAN OF THE MATCH MATZ SELS ON PENALTY HEROICS
Goalkeeper Matz Sels spoke to ITV Sport.
Asked about saving the final penalty, he said: "I’m happy of course… Before the game I studied some penalties and every time I took the wrong corner but that [the last penalty] was the right corner, so I’m happy for the team and now we have another important game at the weekend."
On a frustrating game he said: "The game was not so good… Extra time is always a bit of a gamble, you don’t want to open too much, but then it went to penalties. One of the two goalkeepers is going to be the hero, so it fell for me and I’m happy. [I’m] looking forward to the weekend now."
Asked about how the season might go for Forest, he said: "Yeah of course, we know what to do, the cup is something really nice a few games and you can be in the final."
