MAGUIRE STOPPAGE-TIME HEADER SENDS HOLDERS INTO FA CUP FIFTH ROUND
Harry Maguire scored a controversial stoppage-time header as Manchester United snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
The FA Cup fourth-round tie appeared set for extra-time after Joshua Zirkzee cancelled out Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s first-half header.
However, in the 93rd minute, an unmarked Maguire – who appeared to be in an offside position – nodded in Bruno Fernandes’ free-kick at the far post to send the hosts into round five.
Former United favourite Ruud van Nistelrooy returned to Old Trafford for the first time since his brief spell in interim charge, and his side drew first blood three minutes before half-time.
Bilal El Khannouss’ cross was met by Wilfred Ndidi, and Andre Onana could only parry his first-time shot onto the head of De Cordova-Reid, who nodded in.
Ruben Amorim’s side responded well after the break, with Caleb Okoli clearing off the line from Alejandro Garnacho.
But United were not to be denied in the 68th minute when Hojlund’s flick from a Garnacho cross ricocheted kindly for Zirkzee, who steered into an empty net.
And with extra-time looming, there was to be one last-gasp twist at the Stretford End. With VAR not deployed until the fifth round, United took advantage as Maguire converted from Fernandes’ delicious delivery.

"A GOOD RESULT - NOT A GOOD PERFORMANCE"
Ruben Amorim conceded Man Utd's performance levels must improve, despite their late heroics against Leicester.
"We have to believe until the end," he said. "I think we have to do so much better with and without the ball. We didn't have any energy in the beginning. Then, in the second half, we played a little bit better, with a little bit more speed and winning second balls. Then, we managed to turn things around, so it was a good result - not a good performance.
"I cannot focus just on saving the season with a cup; it's not the way I see football or Manchester United. I care about the moment, and it is clearly not good enough. A good result, we move forward to the next stage. But today was not a good day."

"WE HAVE A BIG RESPONSIBILITY TO PERFORM IN THIS COMPETITION"
Tonight's matchwinner, Harry Maguire, gave his reaction to that dramatic victory.
"A great finish to the game," he said. "In the second half, we played a lot better. The first half was nowhere near good enough. We played at a slow tempo, we didn't really get going, and we probably deserved to go in at half-time losing.
"I think in the second half, we dominated the game, and it really felt like we were going to get that winner.
"It's huge for us. Where we are in the Premier League is nowhere near good enough. We want to take this competition really seriously. We did last year and we're obviously the holders. We have a big responsibility to perform in this competition, and we look forward to the next round now."
On Garnacho's impact, he added: "I think he made a big impact, he always does that when he comes off the bench, so credit to him. He's ready, he's focused. We knew at half-time, he'd bring a little more directness and pace into the team."

LATE, LATE SHOW SEES UNITED THROUGH
With a stoppage-time winner at the Stretford End and Sir Alex Ferguson watching on, it was like the glory days for Man Utd.
However, it looked like their struggles would continue when De Cordova-Reid broke the deadlock, Amorim's side conceding the opening goal for the seventh time in eight games at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, they definitely improved after the break, with the introduction of Garnacho certainly inspiring that.
The Argentine was a constant threat down the left flank, while his cross led to Zirkzee's equaliser.
Then, just when it seemed like extra-time was imminent, Maguire drifted away at the far post to meet Fernandes' superb free-kick, and his header sent the Red Devils through to the FA Cup fifth round for the 10th time in 11 seasons.

90+3'
GOAL!!! MANCHESTER UNITED 2-1 LEICESTER CITY (MAGUIRE)
That could be the winner, and it's the former Leicester man who's scored it!
United look like they have snatched it right at the death.
Fernandes sends a delicious free-kick delivery to the far post, where an unmarked Maguire heads home to surely book their place in the fifth round.

STOPPAGE TIME
There will be three additional minutes played.
Can either side find a winner, or are we destined for extra-time?
88'
SHOT
Garnacho cuts inside from the left and takes aim from just inside the box.
There is plenty of venom in his strike, but it is straight at the goalkeeper.
83'
YELLOW CARD
Ugarte goes in late on Winks.
Although he does not make contact, the United midfielder went in with both feet.
He can have few complaints in going into the book.
81'
SUBSTITUTION
Daka is unable to continue after taking a knock, and Buonanotte comes on in his place.
79'
SIDE-NETTING
At the other end, Garnacho has space to work his way into the area again.
He goes for goal from a tight angle, but his attempt goes the wrong side of the post.
In all fairness, he would have been better off looking for a team-mate from that position.
77'
BRILLIANT TACKLE
Soumare intercepts Fernandes' corner and leads a swift counter, before feeding El Khannouss.
However, Mazraoui tracks his run well and stops him with a well-timed sliding challenge.
73'
LEICESTER CHANGE
Another substitution for the visitors as McAteer comes on in place of goalscorer De Cordova-Reid.
70'
ONE SHOT ON TARGET, ONE GOAL
Talk about efficiency from United!
Garnacho has definitely made a difference since coming on.
The Argentine was heavily linked with a move to Napoli during the January transfer window.
Nevertheless, if he was affected by that uncertainty, he is certainly not showing it here.
68'
GOAL!!! MANCHESTER UNITED 1-1 LEICESTER CITY (ZIRKZEE)
United are level!
Garnacho is involved again as he takes on his man before crossing from the left.
Hojlund's flick towards goal is blocked by Faes, but it ricochets straight to Zirkzee, who makes no mistake in slotting into the empty net.
65'
OFF THE LINE
Fantastic defending by Okoli!
United fashion a rare chance as Garnacho gallops into the area.
His shot deflects off the sliding Faes and loops over Hermansen towards the goal.
However, Okoli is there to hammer the ball off the crossbar and out, before his team-mates clear.
He celebrates as if he has just scored a goal, let alone prevent one.
64'
SUBSTITUTION
Amorim turns to the bench again, replacing Mainoo with Zirkzee.
60'
COMETH THE HOUR
Leicester are still a goal to the good as we enter the final half an hour at Old Trafford.
Can United respond?
57'
DOUBLE CHANGE
Van Nistelrooy turns to the bench and makes a couple of alterations.
Thomas and Ndidi make way to be replaced by Coulibaly and Winks.
