MORE MISERY FROM AMORIM AS HOLDERS MAN UTD CRASH OUT
Bernd Leno was the hero as Fulham knocked holders Manchester United out of the FA Cup courtesy of a penalty shoot-out win at Old Trafford.
The Cottagers goalkeeper saved from Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee as Marco Silva’s men triumphed 4-3 on spot kicks after the tie had finished 1-1 following 90 minutes and extra time.
A turgid first 45 ended on a high note for the visitors as Calvin Bassey pounced at the far post to nod home a flick-on from a right-wing corner.
United toiled in search of an equaliser and pulled level to force extra time when Bruno Fernandes netted his eighth FA Cup goal in his last 12 outings in the competition.
The hosts brought on 17-year-old forward Chido Obi and he had a couple of chances to win it, but Fulham held on to take the tie to what proved to be a triumphant shoot-out.
Next up, United switch focus to their UEFA Europa League last 16 clash at Real Sociedad on Thursday prior to hosting Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
Fulham visit Brighton on Saturday and can look forward to an FA Cup quarter-final tie at home to Crystal Palace on the weekend of March 29-30.

PENALTY SHOOT-OUT HERO BERND LENO REACTS TO FULHAM’S WIN
"Unbelievable, I think we deserved it after 90 or 120 minutes," he told the BBC.
"Of course penalties is sometimes a lottery but luckily we won."
On his two saves in the shoot out from Lindelof and Zirkzee: "The goalie coach told me some information, but I think my feeling is more important, sometimes it’s a bit lucky.
"But credit to our penalty takers too."
He added: "It was a brilliant job from all of us."
Asked if they can go on and lift the trophy, he said: "100 per cent. Let’s see who we have to play (after the last eight draw), we want to go to Wembley."

THE HOLDERS CRASH OUT
Manchester United’s hopes of successfully defending the FA Cup are over.
The Red Devils lose to Fulham for just the second time in 22 meetings as The Cottagers win an FA Cup tie against the Manchester side for the first time in 10 attempts, dating all the way back to 1908!
United had made the last eight of the competition in nine of the last 10 season, but lose a fifth-round tie for the first time since 2006 at Liverpool.
It sees Fulham reach the quarter finals for the second time in three seasons with belief no doubt growing that it could yet be their year.

IT'S NOT BEEN A CLASSIC...
But the team that prevails and reaches the last eight won't care one jot about that.
