LIVERPOOL BREEZE PAST ACCRINGTON STANLEY TO REACH FOURTH ROUND
Liverpool thumped Accrington Stanley 4-0 in the FA Cup third round at Anfield on Saturday to book their spot in the next round.
Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jayden Danns and Federico Chiesa were all on target for the hosts in Arne Slot’s first FA Cup game in charge.
After a resilient start from the League Two side, Liverpool finally broke the deadlock through Jota, who tapped home from close range just shy of the half hour mark.
On the brink of half-time, Alexander-Arnold's thunderbolt from outside the box gave Liverpool a two-goal advantage and a mountain to climb for the visitors.
Danns added a third in the second half with a brilliantly taken finish, before Chiesa netted his first goal for the club to add gloss to the scoreline.

SLOT PLEASED WITH TRENT AFTER DIFFICULT MAN UTD SHOWING
Alexander-Arnold had a tough time in Liverpool's Premier League draw against Manchester United, but he was back with a bang in the FA Cup and Slot was delighted with the full-back.
"Not for the first time," Slot told ITV when asked if his defender produced a performance that was worthy of the Player of the Match award.
"Trent didn't have his best game against United and everybody fell over him, but for the rest of the season he's been so good for us, so I liked his performance a lot today.
"I liked his performance when he came in against Tottenham, and I liked the reaction of the fans."

WOODS ON 'SURREAL' DEFEAT TO LIVERPOOL
After the match, Josh Woods gave his thoughts on the match and despite his side's defeat, enjoyed the occasion at Anfield.
"Honestly, it was surreal," he told ITV. "I was just trying to sum up all the emotions and just try and enjoy it and stay relaxed.
"The first half I was really nervous, but I came out the second half a bit relaxed.
"I felt like we did well in the first 20 [minutes], we kept it tight, but they're world-class players and on the counter [attack] it's hard to stop."

On the second goal just before half-time, Shaun Whalley added: "That's what can happen. World-class players like Trent, he's just smacked one in the top corner.
"I don't think we were ourselves first half, but I did think that was going to happen with the nerves and the emotion of the occasion.
"In the second half we performed a lot better, we could have got back into it."
A COMFORTABLE DAY FOR LIVERPOOL
Goals from Jota, Alexander-Arnold, Danns and Chiesa helped to brush Accrington aside at Anfield as Liverpool booked their spot in the fourth round.
Arne Slot's much-changed side took their time to get going - and Accrington had their chances - but there was only one team who was going to come out on top, and it was the heavy favourites.
A sterling debut for 16-year-old Ngumoha, another FA Cup strike for teenager Danns and a first club goal for Chiesa meant it was a solid afternoon for the Premier League leaders who remain in contention across all four competitions.
