Lazio: 'Shut your Trap!'

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has denied rumours the club have approached Giovanni Trapattoni over the club's soon-to-be-vacant coach's position. Former Italy coach Trapattoni has said he will leave Portuguese giants Benfica this summer, prompting a scramble for his services in Italy.

Struggling Lazio were rumoured this week to have offered Trapattoni a three-year deal to coax the cash-strapped side out of mid-table obscurity.
"I have never had any contact with Trapattoni," countered Lotito. "These stories are completely unfounded."
"We will only address the coaching question at the end of the season."
Lazio have failed to find an adequate replacement for Roberto Mancini, who quit for Inter at the end of last season.
Mimmo Caso was sacked at Christmas while his successor Giuseppe Papadopulo looks set for the sack after an uninspiring spell in charge.
Trapattoni's Benfica need a point from their final league game to seal the Portuguese title, but the veteran tactician, who enjoyed successful spells at Juventus, Inter and Bayern Munich, has already stated his intention to return home this summer.
LYON MOVE FOR TOMASSON
French champions Lyon are on the verge of signing Milan misfit Jon Dahl Tomasson, according to reports in France.
The Danish international striker has endured a mixed season in Serie A, dropping to third in the pecking order behind Andriy Shevchenko and Hernan Crespo.
Despite winning a record fourth successive league title Lyon do not possess a world class striker, a situation unlikely to be improved by Tomasson's arrival.
Lyon's winger-cum-forward Sidney Govou is set to leave the Stade Gerland at the end of the season and the 29-year-old Tomasson is seen as a more-than-adequate replacement.
ZOLA IN QUIT HINT
Italian football legend Gianfranco Zola has hinted the present campaign will be his last.
The 38-year-old playmaker has lit up the present season with his contributions for Cagliari, but says his ageing limbs are no longer up to the job of top-flight football.
"I'm concentrating on the final two matches because they could be my last," said Zola.
"I want to say that I feel good but the pace is really high," he confessed.
