Lazio 1-1 Parma result - Tijjani Noslin rescues point for hosts in deserted Olimpico as Gialloblu take another step towards safety

Tijjani Noslin came off the bench to grab a late equaliser for Lazio against Parma at a deserted Stadio Olimpico as the Roman club’s winning run came shuddering to a halt.

Maurizio Sarri’s side headed into the international break on a high after putting together a three-match winning streak, but familiar concerns about their lack of creativity and goal threat raised their heads again against the well-drilled visitors.

Tens of thousands of seats lay empty in Rome’s 70,000-seater arena as Lazio fans resumed a stadium boycott arranged in protest against club owner Claudio Lotito, and Parma quickly took advantage of the muted atmosphere when captain Enrico Delprato lashed in the opener after 15 minutes.

Lazio struggled to break down Carlo Cuesta’s side before the break and it took until the 77th minute for them to find a somewhat fortuitous route to goal when Noslin’s shot took a deflection to wrong-foot Zion Suzuki and find the net.

The Romans remain eighth on 44 points, six behind Atalanta, while 12th-placed Parma took another step towards securing their Serie A status by moving up to 35 points.

Dele-Bashiru rifles a shot miles over the bar from distance in a moment that just about sums up Lazio's efforts to break down this Parma defence tonight. A draw is probably a fair result on balance.

Tavares sweeps a cross to the back post but Dia can't quite control it. Then Suzuki finds himself under pressure from Noslin and has to hack a clearance away.

Super sub Noslin comes to Lazio's rescue, cutting in off the left wing, exchanging passes with a team-mate and hitting a shot that finds the back of the net courtesy of a fortuitous deflection. Lazio will take it - and now they have 13 minutes plus stoppage time to try and find a winner!

They have relieved the pressure and started to create some chances of their own, as a dangerous corner is headed back into a busy box before being hacked clear.

On comes Estevez for Nicolussi Caviglia in the middle of the park.

The sub has been lively since coming on, and he goes on a mazy run before unleashing a shot from distance, but Suzuki is equal to it. Better from Lazio, but time is running out if they are to turn this around.
