Fiorentina goalkeeper David de Gea pulled off an outstanding double save for his side in their Serie A match against AC Milan on Saturday night.
Fiorentina grabbed an early 2-0 lead before Tammy Abraham halved the deficit, and on 55 minutes, the away side were still holding onto their winning position.
That lead came under threat when Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders aimed a low shot at goal, which De Gea pounced on to push the ball away, and momentarily clear the threat.
However, former Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic was alive to the chance and looked almost certain to tuck the ball away for an equaliser, but his follow-up effort was deftly stopped by the 34-year-old Spaniard, as his lightning-quick reflexes allowed him to instinctively stick out his right leg to block the shot.
On commentary, veteran broadcaster Paul Dempsey praised De Gea for his excellent efforts, saying: "He’s not finished yet, not by a long way."
De Gea had spent a year out of the game after being released by Manchester United as then-manager Erik ten Hag brought in Andre Onana as his No. 1.
After a season without a professional appearance, De Gea decided to join Fiorentina in Serie A, where he has produced some of his best performances of recent years, even being linked with a return to United under their current manager, Ruben Amorim.
Unfortunately for Fiorentina, they conceded a second goal shortly after, as Luka Jovic scored the equaliser for AC Milan. The result left Milan in ninth spot, four points behind Fiorentina in eighth.
Fiorentina ended the match four points off the UEFA Champions League spots.
