SERIE A CLASSIC AS SASSUOLO AND AC MILAN PLAY OUT AN ENTHRALLING 3-3 DRAW
Armand Lauriente scored twice as Sassuolo held AC Milan to an entertaining 3-3 draw in a high-temperature affected game at the Mapei Stadium.
Having gone two goals clear inside the first ten minutes and through heroics of their veteran keeper Andrea Consigli , Sassuolo can count themselves unlucky not to have gone onto win the game.
But this result puts the hosts further away from relegation and cements their position within the Serie A table.
As for AC Milan, they had to come from behind twice but couldn't find a winner in the final minutes in a result that leads their arch rivals Inter Milan closer to another Serie A title.
Focus now shifts to their Europa League second leg clash against Roma on Thursday night in what is now clearly looking like their final chance of silverware this season.
