FT: AC MILAN 5-1 SAMPDORIA
AC Milan cruise to victory as easy as a three points can get.
Giroud approaches the referee for the match ball after his hat-trick.
Samp are heading down and their lack of quality showed.
FRUSTRATED TACKLE
Oikonomou is booked for a late and rash tackle on De Ketelaere.
The resulting free-kick sees the Belgian head over the bar.
SEEING IT OUT
Milan look to have settled for 5-1 and Sampdoria fans continue to chant for their team but no they won't head to San Siro next season as they are down.
The game feels done now, Milan are saving themselves for their last two games of the season coming up vs Juventus and Verona.
MILAN CHANGES
Milan key players get a rest for the remainder of tonight.
Tonali, Tomori, Hernandez off. And Pobega, Kjaer and Toure come on.
As for Samp, Djuricic and Rincon go off for Ilkhan and Paoletti.
GIROUD EYES FOUR
Giroud fancies another goal and spectacular one - he tries an overhead kick but it works as a pass instead.
DE KETELAERE STRUGGLES
Since signing from Club Brugge last summer, he has found the step up tough and his challenges continue as De Ketelaere leads a counter well before being stopped by Gunter.
HERNANDEZ BOOKED
Hernandez sees his name taken after a foul on Leris to stop a counter attack.
NOT OUT OF SECOND GEAR
Milan have netted five and never really got out of second gear this evening.
They are playing in a relaxed way and Samp are going down due to their lack of talent, not lack of effort.
It's very tough when already relegated to keep up effort and they have done that but look a mess and in a crisis.
SUBS FOR BOTH
Nuytinck, Gabbiadini and Quagliarella goes off for Amione, Lammers and Oikonomou.
Meanwhile for the hosts, Milan replace Diaz with De Ketelaere.
GOAL: AC MILAN 5-1 SAMPDORIA
Giroud hat-trick.
Him and Nuytinck are involved in a wrestling match as Leao swings the cross in.
The striker gets the better of the Samp man and bundles it home for his third in the most untidy and scrappy way - he won't care though. The match ball is his.
Goal
O. Giroud
SAMP STEPPING UP
Sampdoria have improved in the second period despite Milan dropping off in intensity.
The Diaz goal came just as the visitors started to knock the ball around with more confidence.
GOAL: AC MILAN 4-1 SAMPDORIA
Milan walk in their fourth goal. Leao slides Tonali in behind and he can roll it across the box for Diaz to tap home.
The attacking midfielder has flourished today against the weaker opponents.
Goal
B. Díaz
GIROUD RAGES
Giroud wastes a hat-trick chance.
Calabria crosses right onto the striker's head but he guides it straight at the keeper.
The frustration can be seen on the Frenchman's face - there was his hat-trick moment.
MESSIAS OFF
Messias has not really got into the game so Saelemaekers comes on to replace him.
GOOD DEFENDING
Leao glides forward with his quick feet and he cannot be stopped.
He passes into Diaz, who looks to poke it beyond Nuytinck, only for the centre-back to cut out the danger in his own box.
SHOWBOATING
The ball bounces in front of Diaz and flicks the ball from behind him over the head of Rincon and the Milan ace runs around him and drives forward to combine with Leao.
The attack results in an over hit cross.
PATIENT PLAY
There is not much intensity to the match since the break.
Milan are cruising to victory and a few inventive tricks and flicks are coming out. They are keeping the ball well with Diaz and Tonali.
Samp are staying solid and have hope a goal can make Pioli's men nervous again. However, they lack quality despite the spirit and effort still being there.
BIG CHANCE
A lovely ball into the box as Quagliarella made a great dart to the back post.
He has space and goes to cushion a volley in but shoots wide.
BRIGHT START
Milan are not taking it easy and want more goals - especially Giroud.
Leao dances his way into the box, riding tackles and Giroud sees a shot blocked by Gunter.
SECOND HALF
We are back underway at the San Siro.
