McTominay calls Hojlund over Napoli move
According to Italy’s Corriere dello Sport, Napoli sensation and former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has called Rasmus Hojlund and attempted to convince the Old Trafford star of the merits of moving to the Serie A champions.
Napoli are in the market for a new striker, with Romelu Lukaku being ruled out for a lengthy period with a thigh injury, and Hojlund is among those of interest.
The Norwegian looks set to leave United this summer, upon Ruben Amorim’s side signing Benjamin Sesko for £74 million.
The Corriere dello Sport article reads: "[McTominay] does everything for the team, and he even did it over the phone on Saturday: McTominay called Hojlund, his former team-mate from a season at United.
"Rasmus the Dane is Napoli's No. 1 target at the end of this transfer window: Lukaku is injured, and sporting director Manna has inserted himself between him and Milan, gradually expanding the squad until he has created the space needed to seal the deal from scratch.
"The story began and grew in a click, in less than a week, but now it's time for the decisive sprint: Hojlund has already said yes, he's enthusiastic about the prospect of returning to Serie A and doing so with the Italian champions, and his arrival would instantly transform the attacking potential, heavily impacted by Romelu's departure."

Real Madrid expecting £112m offer for Vinicius Junior
Spanish publication Defensa Central has alleged Real Madrid are expecting a €130 million (£112m) offer from the Saudi Pro League for Vinicius Junior.
However, the outlet has claimed Los Blancos are unlikely to sell the Brazilian at this late stage in the window.
Vinicius Junior started from the bench in Madrid's Sunday encounter against Real Oviedo, but came on to score and provide an assist as they won 3-0.
According to Defensa Central: "In the coming hours, Real Madrid expects to receive an offer of around €130m for the Real Madrid No. 7 from the Saudi Arabian league, with the hope that Florentino Perez might at least consider it.
"The idea of the Madrid entity, and more so at this stage of the summer, is not to sell no matter how much is said about it, so the squad is closed.
"Florentino Perez and Jose Angel Sanchez hope that last night's performance by Vinicius Junior will serve as a starting point for the Carioca to raise his level and get closer to the performance offered in 2023/24, the one that left him at the gates of the Ballon d'Or, since this will be key to winning titles, but also for his renewal."

Marseille interested in Ceballos as Rabiot replacement
RMC Sport have corroborated a Fabrizio Romano report claiming Marseille are interested in signing Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos on a loan move with an option to buy.
The French publication has speculated that Ceballos could be a replacement for Adrien Rabiot, who was last week transfer listed by the club after the France international was engaged in an altercation with Jonathan Rowe.
The RMC Sport report says: "While Adrien Rabiot's future at Marseille remains unclear, Fabrizio Romano reveals that Marseille are in negotiations with Real Madrid to sign midfielder Dani Ceballos on loan. This information has been confirmed by RMC Sport. This could be a major coup for Marseille.
"The talks revolve around a loan with an option to buy. Roberto de Zerbi is looking for an attacking midfielder with a highly technical and playmaking profile, and Ceballos ticks many boxes."
Real Madrid "don’t believe" Spurs' €70m Paz bid
According to Spain’s Marca, Real Madrid not only have a buy-back option in place for Como’s Nico Paz, they are also notified if any bids are made for the 20-year-old midfielder.
With that in mind, the publication claims Madrid "don’t believe" reports Tottenham Hotspur made a €70m (£61m) bid for the player.
The publication says: "There will be no movement around the Argentine international without Real Madrid saying yes to any deal. The club's buy-back option is in place for this summer and the next two, something the summer rumours fail to fully comprehend.

"Real Madrid's management and coaches remain completely calm regarding Nico Paz's future. Back in June, Paz prioritised playing time at Como to secure the easiest route to reaching the World Cup, wearing the Albiceleste, the same reason that led him to sign for Cesc's team in the summer of 2024.
"Throughout the summer transfer window, two months in, not a single proposal has reached the Valdebebas offices from Como's management with an offer for Nico Paz.
"What's more, they don't believe the alleged €70m offer from Tottenham. And we say this because Como and the player himself know that any move goes through Real Madrid."
