Cristiano Ronaldo's expensive and goal-filled time in Saudi Arabia could come to an end without having lifted a major trophy, should he depart once his contract expires on June 30. Al-Nassr executive and Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro, however, insists that the two parties are still in negotiations. A comment from Gianni Infantino suggested Ronaldo could feature in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo is still in negotiations with Al-Nassr, according to the club's sporting director and Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro.
Hierro told the media that the two parties remain in talks after it was reported that the 40-year-old's exit from the Saudi Pro League club was confirmed.
"We are still in negotiations with Cristiano," Hierro said. "Hopefully we can find a solution on a renewal.
"Cris is now with his national team, with a few days off. His contract runs until June 30. We'll continue working so that all parties can reach an understanding.
"Without a doubt, everyone is working to ensure he continues here. There is a strong push from the entire country for him to stay and that will also be very important for him."
Following a 3-2 defeat to Al-Fateh to finish the season third in the league, Ronaldo posted on social media: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all."
Whilst goals have come aplenty, with 99 in 111 appearances, his time at Al-Nassr could end without a major trophy.

A handful of days before Ronaldo's departure was reported, FIFA president Gianni Infantino inferred that the player could feature in the Club World Cup this summer, despite Al-Nassr not qualifying for the revamped competition.
Naturally, Infantino's comments added fuel to the fire that is the Portuguese's future.
There are 12 European clubs featuring in the 32-team tournament in the United States this summer, including two former clubs of Ronaldo in Real Madrid and Juventus.
Several Brazilian clubs have reportedly been in the running for Ronaldo. Botafogo, owned by Crystal Palace and Lyon majority shareholder John Textor, are one such club.
The club's coach Renato Paiva was asked about the potential deal, and admitted "you can't say no to a star like that."
Should Ronaldo sign for a team in the Club World Cup, the stars could align for one final showdown with career rival Lionel Messi.
The Argentinian's Inter Miami have qualified, and are in a group with Egypt's Al Ahly, Portuguese side Porto and Brazilian club Palmeiras.
