A Lee Cattermole header just before half-time gave Middlesbrough a 1-0 win over Manchester City at Eastlands on Sunday. The win all but guarantees 'Boro's Premiership status while it is City's third consecutive defeat.

Steve McClaren's team, who attempt to overturn a 2-0 deficit in the second leg of their UEFA Cup quarter-final against Basel on Thursday, deservedly took the points when midfielder Cattermole headed in a superb Stewart Downing cross after 42 minutes.
City 'keeper David James kept his side in it with a series of excellent stops - including a double save from local-lad Cattermole and another great block from Downing, but City were unable to seriously threaten 'Boro's lead.
The win lifted Middlesbrough level on 40 points with 13th-placed City, who barely produced a noteworthy effort on goal all game.
