FULHAM HOLD UNDERWHELMING LIVERPOOL FOR FIRST PREMIER LEAGUE POINT
Fulham held a lacklustre Liverpool to a 0-0 draw as Alvaro Arbeloa picked up his first point in charge of The Cottagers.
Andoni Iraola would have hoped his side could channel the momentum from Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid, and nearly took the lead early on when Alexander Isak fired narrowly wide from a tight angle.
Fulham nearly made Liverpool pay for a defensive error as Gonzalo Garcia caught Alisson out of position but his shot was cleared off the line by Jeremy Jacquet.
Victor Munoz nearly bagged his second league goal but his flick on from a corner was tipped away brilliantly by Bernd Leno.
Iraola threw the dice at half-time, sending on Milos Kerkez, who looked bright on the left flank but could not find a way through the stubborn Fulham defence.
Chances were few and far between in the second half, but Liverpool came close in stoppage time when Isak tried to head Dominik Szoboszlai’s corner goalwards but could not make a decent connection.
Jeremie Frimpong put a good cross in towards Rio Ngumoha in the dying embers but the teenager was blocked by Kevin.
Both sides are in Carabao Cup action next week, with Fulham travelling across the capital to West Ham, while Liverpool host Tottenham.
Fulham pick up their first point of the season to move out of the relegation zone for the time being, while Liverpool remain sixth, unbeaten but with three draws from four.

ALISSON: 'IT WAS A POOR PERFORMANCE
Liverpool goalkeeper speaking to the Premier League: "It was a poor performance.
"Collectively, we didn't play well. I think many things we tried to do, we couldn't do it well.
"Obviously, it's a big challenge to play Wednesday night and Saturday, but you have another game Tuesday. But we need to get the right mentality to do that."

THE FINAL STATS
Liverpool can have no complaints about dropping points today. They were well under par.
At 0.31, Alexander Isak's header was supposedly the best chance of the match in terms of xG.

FULL TIME! LIVERPOOL 0-0 FULHAM
Calvin Bassey fights off Cody Gakpo, but a miscommunication with Antonee Robinson hands Liverpool the ball again.
Virgil van Dijk skews a pass out for a throw-in which sums up Liverpool's match in a nutshell.

SZOBOSZLAI CANNOT UTILISE SET PIECES
Actually maybe this isn't too far out. Not for Dominik Szoboszlai.
He goes for goal, but clips the top of the wall and wins a corner.
Szoboszlai runs over to take the corner. He finds Alexander Isak who peels away and tries to flick it goalwards but it flies wide!

FOUR MINUTES ADDED ON
The ball in is easily cleared before Milos Kerkez can only find the gloves of Bernd Leno with his cross.
Alexander Isak now wins a free-kick, in a more central position but too far out to shoot.
Four minutes of added time.

KERKEZ FIGHTING WELL FOR LIVERPOOL
Milos Kerkez does well to win a header and take the ball away from Kevin. He has done so at the expense of a corner though.
The corner doesn't beat the first man and Liverpool clear.
Kerkez then shows excellent fight to win a free-kick by the left corner flag.

NGUMOHA DISPOSSESSED CHEAPLY
Rio Ngumoha tries to run at Fulham's defence, but ends up passing it straight to Hugo Larsson.
There hasn't been much sign there will be an opening, and potentially winning, goal in this match.
Five to go.

TETE PICKS UP FIRST YELLOW OF MATCH
Milos Kerkez is taken out by Kenny Tete, so Liverpool can cross from the free-kick. Tete earns himself the first yellow card of the match for good measure.
Dominik Szoboszlai goes for a powerful cross/shot, but can't beat the first man.
There is a short delay as Tete, who stuck his head in the way of the ball, has to get his head checked.

FULHAM MAKE FINAL THREE CHANGES
Josh King pushes forward and cuts inside Jeremy Jacquet, before forcing a save out of Alisson.
Rodrigo Muniz, Emil Smith-Rowe and Hugo Larsson are all about to come on. They replace Gonzalo Garcia, King himself and Alex Iwobi.
No subs remaining for either side.

FIFTEEN MINUTES REMAINING
The ball bounces around the box after Cody Gakpo and Jeremie Frimpong link up, but it just doesn't fall for a red shirt. Alexis Mac Allister went to ground at some point but VAR decides no penalty.
Replays show there was little, if any, contact from Calvin Bassey on Mac Allister.
Fifteen minutes to go at Anfield now. Can either party break the deadlock?

LIVERPOOL GETTING MORE DESPERATE
Liverpool are resorting to long shots now. Dominik Szoboszlai sees his beaten away by Bernd Leno while Alexis Mac Allister fires straight into a white shirt.
A point would be enough to move Fulham out of the relegation zone for now, as Aston Villa trail Nottingham Forest.
Bradley Barcola gets into the box, but can't find anyone with his pass.

ARE LIVERPOOL HEADING FOR RARE 0-0 DRAW?
Cody Gakpo briefly appeals for the most speculative of handballs, but VAR promptly checks and clears it.
Liverpool haven't had a 0-0 draw since they played Arsenal in January. They do like a late goal though, be it scoring or conceding.
Milos Kerkez earns a round of applause for linking up with Florian Wirtz, but can't do anything with the cross.

FULHAM MAKE FIRST CHANGE
Antonee Robinson's cross is hoicked away by Virgil van Dijk for a corner. Can Fulham find the sucker punch?
They bring Kenny Tete on for Oscar Bobb before the delivery.
Alex Iwobi aims for the far post, but Bradley Barcola sees it round for another corner.
This time it is on the noggin of Calvin Bassey, but his header is straight at Alisson.
