Arsenal buoyed by William Saliba boost

Mikel Arteta revealed that Bukayo Saka is still unavailable, but William Saliba and Ben White had returned to training ahead of Arsenal’s encounter with Nottingham Forest, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
"Bukayo [Saka] is out", Arteta said. "He is still out and he is trying to get back as quick as possible. We need to respect that process.
"William Saliba trained today and Ben White too."
In response to whether Saliba will be available, Arteta added: "He trained today so we have a decision to make if we play him or not. It's very good news."

Ola Aina absent for Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest’s only injury absentee is right-back Ola Aina.
"We have a clean bill of health apart from Aina. He had a problem with the national team," Ange Postecoglou said in his first press conference, when asked about injuries ahead of the Arsenal clash.
"We’ve sent him for some scans and we should get the results this afternoon.
"The rest of the boys, today is the first day I’ve had my eyes on them and they’re all fine. Zinchenko is the only one who isn’t fine."

Alexander Isak to be eased in at Liverpool

Curtis Jones is Liverpool’s only absentee for Sunday’s trip to Burnley, while Slot also warned that Alexander Isak’s minutes will be managed.
"We trained today for the first time with most of them. Curtis Jones got injured in the last game, he will not be available.
"The rest of them came back without a problem and that is not always the situation."
On Isak, Slot said: "Don't expect him to be playing every single game 90 minutes on the pitch. That's definitely not going to happen in the upcoming weeks.
"He missed a proper pre-season, he missed three or four months of team sessions. We have to build him up gradually, with us playing so many games, hardly any training time, that's going to be a challenge.
"But we haven't signed him for the upcoming two weeks. We've signed him for six years, so this is what we have to keep in mind and what the fans have to keep in mind if I take him off at a certain moment or only bring him in for a small amount of minutes. It's all for the long-term fitness of the player."

Newcastle suffer Yoane Wissa and Jacob Ramsey blow

Eddie Howe revealed that Newcastle summer signing Yoane Wissa is to have tests and may potentially see a specialist after picking up a knee injury on international duty with DR Congo.
"He won't make this game," Howe said. "I saw him for the first time yesterday. He's feeling the effects of the injury he sustained just before he came off. So we are going to have to see how he is."
Howe also revealed another summer recruit, Jacob Ramsey, will be out until after the next international break in October, upon suffering an ankle injury.
Howe said: "Jacob Ramsey is the only other injury concern we have. He will miss the game having suffered from that tackle against Leeds. His ankle swelled up at half-time and he had to come off.
"Unfortunately, I think he will be missing until after the next international break so that is a big blow."
In better news, Joelinton is "fit and available" for what Howe called "a storm of games" in September.

Chelsea’s Liam Delap out for up to three months

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca revealed that Liam Delap would be out for up to three months with the hamstring injury he picked up against Fulham, while Cole Palmer would miss Saturday evening’s game against Brentford.
Maresca said: "Liam is around 10 to 12 weeks. Long way to go."
Moreover, on Palmer, Maresca added: "Cole took part in the session yesterday for the first time. Not the entire session. We have one more session, we are going to try with him. We will see if it is okay.
"Otherwise, he will be out again tomorrow. He is recovering from an injury. It is not managing him, it is recovery."

Man City endure triple injury blow

Pep Guardiola confirmed that Omar Marmoush, Rayan Ait Nouri and Rayan Cherki have been ruled out for the weekend’s Manchester derby, while John Stones is a doubt for the fixture.
The Manchester City boss said: "Omar [Marmoush] came from Egypt injured. Rayan Ait Nouri and Rayan Cherki are out. John Stones is a doubt but not a 'big issue'. The rest are okay."
On Marmoush's injury, Guardiola added: "We have to wait for tests but a few weeks I think. Before the international break, he will be ready."

Man Utd's Matheus Cunha pushing 'really hard'

Ruben Amorim claimed that Manchester United’s injured trio Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount and Diogo Dalot were not fit to make the Manchester City encounter, but were "pushing really hard" to make a swift return.
Amorim said: "They are out for this game. I don't know how long it is going to take. We need our guys to be a very competitive team but we have very good players who are eager to play, so we will be competitive on Sunday but they are out. They cannot help us in this game."
When asked how long they will be out for, he added: "I don't want to say. If you talk to Cunha, he will say he is able to play this game. So I don't know. We will manage day-by-day. They are pushing really hard and that is a good thing."
