Unfinished business was settled on a packed final day of action in the Premier League, as outstanding matters concerning European qualification and Premier League survival were all concluded on a red-hot afternoon up and down the country.
The action played out in sun-soaked stadiums throughout the nation, with a trio of clubs celebrating European football, while a pair of London clubs with long-standing Premier League history experienced contrasting fortunes at the foot of the table.

EUROPEAN TOURERS
The season concluded with AFC Bournemouth and Sunderland securing UEFA Europa League football for next season. Bournemouth had faint hopes of securing a UEFA Champions League place, but results elsewhere meant they had to content themselves with a Europa League spot. But on Wearside, the Stadium of Light was rocking as Sunderland beat Chelsea 2-1 to leapfrog Brighton and snatch the final Europa League place.
Brighton, meanwhile, were well beaten 3-0 by Manchester United at the AMEX, as they lost out on a Europa League spot. But the Seagulls still held on to European football thanks to Liverpool holding Brentford to a draw at Anfield. Despite a strong campaign, the Bees miss out on Europe on goal difference.

UPS AND DOWNS
The battle at the bottom was all about two clubs, with Tottenham and West Ham desperately looking to avoid the drop to the Championship, and in the end it was Spurs left celebrating Premier League survival.
Tottenham beat Everton 1-0 courtesy of a Joao Palhinha goal, meaning West Ham's efforts against Leeds United would be in vain. For their part, the Hammers went down fighting, but their 3-0 home win over Leeds wasn't enough to repair the damage done earlier in the campaign.

CHAMPIONS CROWNED
Arsenal were already confirmed as Premier League champions ahead of their final game at Crystal Palace. But they had to wait until after their 2-1 away win at Selhurt Park before they could finally get their hands on the silverware.
The celebrations will play out throughout the night across North London as the fans of both Arsenal and Tottenham celebrate for very different reasons.

EMOTIONAL FAREWELLS
The afternoon also saw three Premier League mainstays bid farewell to their respective clubs as Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and Liverpool duo Mo Salah and Andy Robertson both had their final matchdays with their respective clubs.
All three received huge, emotional ovations from their respective fanbases after making huge, championship-winning, contributions to their clubs.

BREAKING: TOTTENHAM ARE STAYING UP!
Spurs complete a 1-0 win over Everton in a taut and brutal final day. Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky with a brilliant stop in the dying seconds to prevent Tyrique George from finding an equaliser. 10 minutes of stoppage time at the Tottenham Stadium. West Ham win 3-0 against Leeds, but go down. A 49th straight season of top flight football for Spurs!
It's UEFA Europa League football for Bournemouth next season after the Cherries fought back to claim a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.
They needed a win, and a Man City win over Aston Villa, to open up a path to the UEFA Champions League, but neither materialised. However, despite that slight disappointment, Bournemouth will be celebrating a superb season, and prospect of European football next season.

NINE MINUTES ADDED AT SPURS
Six or seven Tottenham defenders are on the pitch. Trying to game manage this match to death. Remember, Spurs just need to avoid shipping two goals in added time.
As it stands, Brighton are still in Europe next season, but their place in the UEFA Conference League could disappear into thin air if Brentford nick a stoppage-time winner at Liverpool.
They're still playing at Anfield, and the Seagulls fans are glued to their phones as they watch the closing moments from Merseyside.
