Nottingham Forest 2-2 Manchester United result – Amad Diallo rifles home equaliser as Ruben Amorim’s side snatch point in Premier League clash

Amad Diallo rescued a point as Manchester United kept their unbeaten run going following a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.

Encouraged by three successive league wins, United were full of confidence and dominated spells of the first half.

The visitors got a controversial opener on 34 minutes as a corner was awarded despite Nicolo Savona's appeals that he had kept the ball in.

Forest failed to switch on from the resulting corner and Casemiro headed his side into the lead.

Sean Dyche got the half-time response he required with two goals inside as many minutes.

Firstly Morgan Gibbs-White headed home an equaliser before Savona capitalised on a loose ball inside the box to fire Forest ahead.

However, a moment of brilliance from Diallo secured United a point with his volley from just outside the box flying in with nine minutes remaining.

Casemiro almost netted a winner in injury time, but was denied by Murillo’s clearance off the line as the sides shared the points.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona goals turned this one on its head and gave Nottingham Forest a life-line following a poor first half.

Ruben Amorim will reflect on a hard-fought point against a Nottingham Forest side buoyed by two quick second half goals.

Amorim will look back at the defending which allowed the hosts to go from a goal down to 2-1 ahead within three minutes.

The draw leaves United in fifth and moves them a place above Manchester City.

Nice and quick passing from United before finding Cunha. He turns on the edge of the box and opens up enough space for an effort. However, his effort lacks power and accuracy and is easy for Sels.

Moments later Cunha darts forward before finding Sesko whose effort from a tight angle is wide.

What a strike from Diallo!! Forst head clear a United corner which falls onto the boot of Diallo and flies into the net. It’s a great finish under pressure from Hudson-Odoi.

Yoro is replaced by Noussair Mazraoui for United; Awoniyi on for Igor Jesus for Forest.

United have mustered a response but found a red wall of defenders in front of them. Eventually Dorgu has an effort out wide which is comfortably saved.

The home side need a third goal while they are on top in this game. Hudson-Odoi and Anderson are causing their visitors problems.
