TABLE-TOPPING ARSENAL EDGE TO WIN AS SET-PIECE BRILLIANCE PROVES DECISIVE ONCE AGAIN
Leandro Trossard grabbed the winner as Arsenal moved three points clear at the Premier League summit courtesy of a 1-0 victory at Fulham.
Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice both went close in a cagey first half of few openings, while Riccardo Calafiori had a wonder-strike ruled out for offside.
Arsenal intensified their pressure following the restart and broke the deadlock just shy of the hour when Gabriel flicked on a right-wing corner for Trossard to touch in from close range.
Fulham huffed and puffed without ever looking like finding an equaliser as Marco Silva’s men suffered a third straight league loss.
The result means Mikel Arteta’s men are three points ahead of second-place Manchester City, although champions Liverpool could cut the gap back down to one point if they win at home to Manchester United on Sunday.
Next up, 14th-placed Fulham visit Newcastle on Saturday, while Arsenal host Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday before welcoming Crystal Palace to Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

FORMER GUNNERS STRIKER ALAN SMITH SALUTES A NARROW WIN
"It’s certainly been a hard-fought performance and victory, they’ve had to work for everything out there because Fulham have been right at it," said the Arsenal legend on Sky Sports.
Asked about a star performer, he added: "Arsenal have had a few, Gabriel at the back…
"But Bukayo Saka is the one who took the game to Fulham; a very strong performance."
